I've got one on my bike. At its softest setting, it is still firmer than the firmest setting on the stock monoshock. Definitely worth the price. Its a little bit finicky to install though.

I have the moroy of a gold fish... so please bear with me... did you install on your own? I do not mind taking the bike all sorts of apart to make it work... but i dont want to have to weld up spacers and junk like that

i just got done looking at the outside of a house i am very interested in... going to look at the inside tomorrow...

a beautiful 2 car garage... man its nice

Totally right about the yellow pipes...gonna wrap them in black header wrap soon...think it will look cool and go nicely with the black old school look...not to mention cover that ugly yellow s**t

You don't have to weld spacers or anything, and you do have to remove the seat frame, fender, rear wheel and mud shield. when you remove the old one, you have to drop the swingarm, fit the monoshock and then almost compress it a little to get all the holes to match up to fit bolts. Like I said.. finicky.

Do I have to remove the rear fender to remove rear tire on Drifter 800?

its actually pretty simple.. the seat frame has to come off (2 up seat), that is 4x12mm bolts, then the battery cover, 3x#2 Phillip Head screws to disconnect the rear light wiring harness, then 2x8mm bolts for the fender and 4x12mm bolts for the fender bracket. Depending on what you've got for exhaust, the right side bolts could be a little tricky. Remember to brace the tail end of the fender or it will fall when you have one set of bolts left to remove. Good luck!

Hey Drifter fans, So I've been reading this post for about 3 years and have never posted, so here goes. I saw the pics that zetzr posted, I loved the bike. I was hoping to get a couple of coments about my idea, I bought an 04 1500 Drifter and was thinking of getting rid of it for a victory 8ball kingpin, but I really love the Drifter, its an oddball bike not to many people have them. Well I came across this victory and loved the style. So I'm sitting here bored in Baghdad not able to sleep and I ruff painted my bike with microsoft paint just for an idea. I'm no graphic arts major, I just wanted to get a basic idea. Oh and yeah, I screwed up its an 800 that I painted but you get the idea, so what do you all think?

I like that bike but I like the Drifter more. The thing I love about my Drifter is the rear fender. I love how the fender rides with the swing arm and not with the rest of the bike.

Love the idea of the old school look (flat black and red)...the Kingpin is a really nice bike too...but...you don't get the beautiful fenders which are such an awesome canvas for paint...as for the Victory I know in Canada at least the servicing is a pain...not alot of dealers...and what you can get for them is limited (sort of like the Drifter I guess)...I've seen another Drifter with the wheels done in red...but that guy did spokes and all...looked sort of cheap and crappy...I think doing only the rim itself would look better...Good luck...and thanks for the compliment on my bike...Cheers

PS...not to mention the Kingpin will be 3 times the price of the Drifter

I already own the drifter, its a silver and black 1500. I really want to change the paint. I love the look of the flat black with the red rims I just wonder what it would cost to have done. Can chrome even be painted (heads of the engine and exhaust)? After doing that ruff pic I realize I'm not going to get rid of the drifter its to good looking of a bike. Maybe My wife will just let me get another bike. I refuse to buy a harley, I have a victory dealership 10 miles from my door.

Good call on keeping the Drifter...lol...you can have the chrome parts powdercoated...not painted...or anything that is subject to alot of heat can be ceramic coated...as for the paint...shops are all over the place for price so shop around...I went with a "satin" finish on my bike so it still has the flat look but is cleared so it's tough too...a straight flat finish is terrible for scratches and you can't even clean it safely...wish I could help more with price but its so hard to put a price on custom stuff...make some good friends who are in the business...thats the best advice I can give...lol...Good luck with your project...looking forward to seeing some pics when you are done !
