Default New Parts to Install

Today I got my second order of parts to install on the bike this spring. I'm pretty excited about everything since I am replacing everything with LEDs (except the headlight obviously), but I really think things will look pretty cool!

Here is what I got starting in the upper left corner going clockwise:

1. Custom LED install kit
2. 11 orange LED pods from Custom Dynamics - I have four 5 LED pods, four 4 LED pods, and three 3 LED pods...should look cool when installed
3. Tirewise 38 PSI valve stem covers...these have a green line when theyre above 38 PSI, and turn red if they go below that. I normally keep my tires around 40, but I wanted a little bit of threshold for temp reasons.
4. Chrome wire loom and zip ties...should make the LED install cleaner.
5. Kuryakyn Red (for the rear) and Amber (for the front) turn signal bezels - I didnt want to get totally aftermarket turn signals, but I didnt like the look of the stockers. These wont be a 100% straight fit, so I'll have to modify my existing turn signals to make them work, but I am confident I'll be able to figure it out. I'll definitely post some pix when its done.
6. Mustang leather fender bib for my seat. Just something to cover the rear fender when I am riding solor.
7. Clear Alternatives LED tailight cluster....this should just look cool.
8. TMI 18 LED turn signal amber and 18 LED turn signal red turn signals - I did a lot of research on various LED turn signal solutions and these seem like the ones that will work the best for what I want to do. I dont want to sacrifice brightness of the stock bulbs, but want the coolness of LEDs. I'll keep everyone posted on how these turn out...for now, here are some pix:

9. Radiantz LED illuminated license plate frame - These used to be over $100 at some places, but recently a new chrome version has come out that I picked up for $30 at Custom Dynamics. I already have my plate mounted on the side, but have no illumination. This will keep me legal and look cool! Here is a pic:

I'm pretty excited about everything and look forward to the install. I will definitely take a lot of before, during, and after pix to share with you as well. I am guessing I should have this done by the end of March!

Right on. I think you'll be impressed with those deep dish bezels. Based on your posting history, I'll just sit back and wait for the 'after' pics

you didnt mention a load equalizer...you will need one for use with those LED turn signals.

One other thing, if you replace all the lights on your bike with LED's that means less draw on your electrical system. Your regulator will run hotter then wont it?

Constrictor- I was under the assumption that the Kuryakyn lenses were a direct swap for 1600 classics and MS's. Let me know how the install goes as I was getting ready to order these for the front. I was just about to ask for some pics of the lights when your done, but then I came to my senses! Constrictor + mods = tons of pics!

The Kury deep dish bezels are not a direct replacement for the Mean Streak. They might work on the Classics or other Kaw bikes, but they are designed only for turn signals whose bezel is mounted via a single screw on the bottom of the signal housing.

The Mean Streak uses two screws that goes directly through the face of the bezel to secure. If you look at the Kury bezels and then look at the stock Mean Streak bezels, you'll see two screws going through the face on the stockers, but there is no place on the Kury's to mount like that.

Looking at the Kury bezels and the stock Mean Streak ones, I am confident that with some careful grinding with my Dremel, I can modify the stock housing to make it work. I'll just need to use a glue gun to hold it all together. Since I am using LED bulbs which generate very little heat, and last significantly longer than bulbs, I shoudln't ever have to replace anything, and if I do, all I need to do is heat up the glue and pull it apart.

Worst case scenario, I can just replace my stockers with new ones. I looked up the price online and its about $75 for all 4 of them. Or I can just go totally aftermarket.

Either way, I am excited about this whole project. As you all have come to expect, I will take many pictures of everything.

Oh, and someone asked where I got everything. I got the Mustang fender bib, the Kury bezels, and the LED tailight from cruisercustomizing.com. I got the 18 LED turn signals (front and rear) off ebay from a place called http://usaled.com/. Lastly, I got all the accent LEDs, install kid, tire stem caps, and license plate frame from Custom Dynamics.
