Default kuryakyn Iso grips

I bought a set of kuryakyn Iso grips and installed on my Nomad and the left grip can be rolled about 1/2 inch each way. I cleaned the old glue off with acetone and put the glue all over the bar they slid it on. Any body else have this problem.

nope... no problems here... used the regular glue that came with the product... i cleaned mine out by using laquer thinner... not sure if it's too late or not, but some people swear on hairspray being the shiznits for this...

maybe you got two right side in the package. The right side is larger to accomodate the plastic that rotates the throttle, the left side is supposed to be smaller and on mine it fit nice and tight.

When you put the clue on, did you apply it the most at the end of the handlebars, because when u push on the handle....it will shuw some of the glue with it and distribute it even more.

I had never touched Kuryakyn grips until I got my 1600, they got glued on the 1st try following the instruction they came with?

Oh yrh, I didn't have any problems with my ISO grip install. Used the glue they came with, and they are on their good and stuck.

I should have read the instructions I put the glue even all over the bar. I put another set on my friends 1700 yamaha tonight, worked ok,but I had to pull the tank off to unhook the throttle cables from the carb bracket to get slack to take off cables.

I had a similar problem with the ISO's left grip. It has broken free twice. The first time I used the adhesive included with the grips. The second time I used an automotive adheisve. Then I searched this forum and found a post by someone (sorry to say I forgot the person's name), but he said he used Gorilla Glue. Well, I bought some at Lowes (4oz for less than $5), and the grip hasn't budged yet. The nice thing about this glue is that it expands as it cures. The bad thing is, if you don't inspect the entire area where your grip seats against the switch housing, you may get some glue ooze that expands into a nice mess. Hope this helps.

Try sanding the grip area with sand paper first. This will help prep the surface so the glue will hold better

I just put the Iso grips on my Meanie the other day,I used Aquanet hairspray.(stop laughing,I don`t have enough hair to spray)I find that if I spray it wet the grip slides on easily, then locks up tight in a coupla minutes, gives you time to position the grips the way you want to orient it.
In fact ,I did both my daughters` bikes` grips that way, too. No muss,no fuss,no chocolate mess...

I used the glue that came with the grips had no problems .

I wonder if double sided tape and solivent (some use lighter fluid)would work ?
The same method used to apply grips on golf clubs .

The glue had pushed down to switch cover and just stuck from the end of the grip to it. Had to take it off and reglue putting the glue down more to the handlebar end and in the grip also. It own good now.

I put mine on with Gorilla Glue.......the left one isn't coming off unless I cut it off.

YES HAD IT. You could move the grips aside and install some more crazy glue. and let dry for a while . Should take care of that happened to me
