Default Mods Mods Mods

Thanks again for everyone's input on getting back into riding. The new ('05) Vulcan 1600 is sweet. Less than two weeks.. and will be doing the 600 mile checkup in few days. (Not bad for a guy who hadn't ridden in 30 years). And the stock seat is fine. No problems so far. Anyway... while I was in Arizona for a wedding, I left her at Dealer to install some Mods I had ordered when I picked up the bike. They installed the F&S Windshield/lowers, Sissybar, Tachometer, Saddlebags/Supports. Still waiting for the Speedo cowl to come in.

Must say the Windshield has made an enormous difference, and the Sissybar allows my wife to spend more time up with me. (That's a good thing). Next addition will be boards for her. We're having a problem locating a Luggage Rack for the OEM Sissybar (apparently made by Cobra with Kawa insignia) If anyone has a lead on that, it's appreciated.

PS.. Have atempted to attach several pictures... but every time the upload fails.. they are less than 50 kb files... Any ideas?

Getting any motorcycle rigged for comfort is key to enjoyable riding. I am still thinking about getting an espresso maker and magazine holder for mine. LOL

Welcome & congrats on the fine choice of a 1600.

I was off almost as long as you & really love mine! Glad I didn't go smaller. The stock seat wasn't too bad for me either but I did find that a set of Phatt II risers & a gel Propad did make a great improvement, especially on the long rides.

Enjoy & post often!!

I do have a cup holder and was riding to a cycle shop locally with a cup of Starbucks coffee in it and what I found out is that the little hole in the "fit on lid" is not small enough to stop the coffee from flying out as you hit any bumps on the road. I was being sprayed by coffee as it flew out of the hole and caught by wind. When I got to the shop I had to do some clean up from the coffee spray.

What was the effect with the Phat !! Risers? And did you have to relocate any cables... etc.

Also.. I'm having an awful time trying to upload pics. The uploads fail, even at 50k files. Suggestions?

Thanks

Phat II's are nice and don't require any reloaction. The brake line will be a bit tight and if that bothers you there are directions for rerouting it, but theres no need.

As far as your pics go they're definately not too big. Check that they are an appropriate file type. As an example I can't upload PCIII maps because of the file type.
