Default Newbie- Kuryakyn footpegs, grips, shifter, foot brake

Well I just got my mean streak 2 weeks ago and I’m now looking for some parts to dress it up a little bit. I have been looking at cruisercustomizing.com at the Kuryakyn stuff but I’m new at this stuff so I was hopping to get a little help with what footpegs, grips, shifter, and foot brake to get.

Some questions that I that I have are:

What’s the difference between the universal iso grips and the iso grips?

Are these grips longer then the stock grips? I was thinking about getting the throttle boss but I’m not sure if the grip would be long enough and the throttle boss would just get in my way.

Which footpegs do you guys like are there any that you find are more comfortable or you dislike more then the others?

Are the footpegs still spring loaded like the stock ones?

How do the shifter and foot brake work I saw a few that are just covers?
Are there any other alternatives instead of just a cover?

Welcome.

1. Same grip, one is universal, one can be purchased specifically for your bike. Get the specific ones.

2. Your controls can be meved inward if needed.

3. The large iso pegs are hard to beat for the money. They have a couple new, more custom looking ones as well. Also, the iso wings are a little larger and give a little more room, but not as much as floorboards.

4. yes.

5. yep, nearly all are covers unless you go with a set of forward controls such as Mapams, then you get new pegs and levers.

the throttle boss just fit onto the ends of each grip, they are nice, allow you to rest your right hand and keep the throttle activated with the palm of your hand while you strethch out your fingers. I did a left one as well just because I am so anal. It does allow you to rest your left hand as well. They dont get in the way at all.
