I ended up taking the easy way out, and took it to a shop that worked around the absence of EPA equipment. It wasn't that bad of a fix, they included the jet kit, fixed the carb, changed the oil/filter, and completely rebuilt my clutch for $800. All I know is that they used a DynoJet kit with my drag pipes, and when they changed the oil they drained some ridiculous amount out, like 8 quarts, since the carb was flooding and gas was getting into the oil. So I'd recommend not driving it that much until its fixed.
It runs absolutely beautifully now, going on almost a year. I'd just call around to shops asking if a) they'll work on bikes over 10 years old and b) they'll work around EPA equipment being gone and just shell out the $350. |
