I'm not familiar with the current selection of small bikes, but recall that I started in 1980 on a Honda CB450, and quickly found it to be too little in several ways and replaced it. I'm not a brute, either; 5'-8", 165#, 29" inseam, 32" sleeve length. The VN 900 fit me perfectly right out of the box.
