A quick history... as a side job I used to do PCM tuning for GM cars for performance as well as drivability issues (OBD II cars). So, I have some experience in engine tuing via a laptop!
I was looking at what the PC III can do, and was thrilled that something like that was available. I can see that you can adjust the "fuel curve" over throttle position (load in this case I suppose), and you can adjust the spark curve a bit as well. I guess my question would be has anybody installed a wide band O2 sensor and a mechanism to monitor the spark advance as well as the readings from the 02 sensors while riding to help tune the engine? My experience in tuning cars is that dyno tuning really ins't a realistic measure of how the vehicle will preform at the track or on the street. Although it is great to get things close, the real tuning happens at the track or after logging data while driving. Anyhow, I have a sneaky feeling I am thinking way too much about tuning a cruiser... but thought I would ask anyhow. |

Anyhow, I have a sneaky feeling I am thinking way too much about tuning a cruiser.
just a tad...lol we all want performance out of our cruisers, but the kind of performance you are talking about achieving is something not many of us want but the PCIII is a great FMU. i have it as well
