So I took NY_Guy's advice and purchased the stebel air horn from http://www.casporttouring.com/store/...gory_Code=STEB, man this thing is loud. Scare the crapout of small children and will really wake up that person in the car thats fixing to change lanes and doesn't see you. I did a stealth install. You would never even know that the thing was installed. I removed the factory horn. So no more ugly horn up front, hanging in front of the radiator. I still am not quiet done. I want to change the connectors to the batter so its a cleaner looking install. I will let the pictures tell the story.
I know that there is talk about the the compressor being mounted right side up. Mine seems to have no ill effects yet. Only more time will tell for sure. I only hope the reeds can live a long life where its mounted. Bekah once again helped with the install as she enjoys doing this kind of work. yet the house looks terrible. First pic is the relay install. 2nd pic is the compressor 3rd pic is the reeds installed under the bike.

What a clever wascal! I'm just too tired to figure out where you mounted the horn (I can see it's the undercarriage). Job well done and glad that everything turned out okay. She makes a very unambiguous (and loud) statement to the world, and the price is GREAT too!

well just imagine this. Bottom left corner of the pic. Those hoses are the vent hoses for the gas tank. That black thing next to the hoses and below that support bar is the oil filter.
I did pull the tank to re-route the stock horn wires so that the stock horn switch could be used. I think it all turned out great. All except the battery connections. I will be cleaning them up and using better connections.

Nice job! Why these bikes don't come with better horns is a mystery to me!

my error, i didn't pick up on the "L" connectors. i''m familuir with the fatigue thing. i installed some electronics on my bike and have been fighting that since. i think i'll replace that troubled connection with an "L" connector and see if that solves the problem. again nice work.

I got to install the reed. Gene just laughed at me laying on the floor trying to get in in there.
Horn works great for scaring animals away from the road as you go by. Found that out last night as a kitty cat was crossing the hwy in front of us and not in too big of a hurry. He changed it's mind really fast! I wasn't real worried about the cat doubling back on us after that.

No prob on copying, thats why we all post pics and explain what we are doing and how its done so the next person that comes along can see the results and decide what route to take or even make changes that are better.
thanks for the props

Nice install...clean, well thought out and easily traceable if it ever needs trouble shooting. If the compressor doesn't get hot, would you consider giving it a wrap of some kind of foam to make sure it stays put?

Has a velcro strap around it for that. But we are considering putting some kind of single sided foam to cut down on the vibration.

Nice job,Gene.
Looks like you put it where the goats belly used to be. Also-from what I can make out it looks like you moved the regulator inside too.Howdja do it?Didja have to make a new bracket,or were you able to turn the original one around somehow?I want to relocate mine, but not up front.Under there is more appealing to me. John
