2001 Vulcan 1500 FI

Hello everyone, I just made s purchased of a 2001 Vulcan 1500 FI classic with the exact accessories that I would have purchased. It just turned 6K miles today. It also got an oil change and new plugs since the prior owner only changed the oil three times prior and still had original plugs. It's got a Mustang seat with driver's backrest, hard bags, engine guard, PCIII and floor boards for the passenger along with a sissy bar and luggage rack. Love the way this bike handles. I've ridden several V65 Magnas over the past 20+ years and love the performance and handling but the replacements parts were extremely difficult to find and/or replace. I've been monitoring this board for the last couple of weeks and decided that a 1500 would suit my needs quite nicely. Debated on spending the $ on a 2 Litre Vulcan but once I saw and rode this 1500 with all of the optional accessories, I bought it on the spot. I couldn't be happier with my purchase (especially after a basic service).
The prior owner had provided me with an extra kawasaki oil filter and oil so that's what I used to change the oil but I think I'm going with the Mobile 1 Synthetic with my next oil change. I've had very good results with Mobile 1 even on my 1984 V65 Magna. I live on the coast in southern Oregon with lots of twisting roads and hardly any traffic. I also consider purchasing a Harley but couldn't justify the dollars spent vs. performance and handling. I gave the owner his full asking price of 7K but it was worth it for me to obtain a bike with all the chrome accessories already installed as well as a few other options. Anyway, just wanted to pop in say Hi and hope to contribute to this forum. |

The easiest way is to upload to an online service(i.e. potobucket, imagedump, etc.). They should then have a direct link that will insert the image.
Nice choice on the bike. ![]()

I just bought a 2004 nomad with 8000 km on it, loaded. I've been looking at the nomad for a while. Just could'nt see me spending that much on a new bike. I found mine at a harley dealership. Hope you enjoy your ride.
