    Default Brighter Headlight Bulb

Hey..... Has anyone tried using the 80/100 watt headlight bulbs that Gadget mentions on one of his lighting pages.
Talking about the BP1210/H4 headlight bulb made by Wagner and the
Sylvania 2357LL bulb for the taillight.
Was going to get some of these bulbs from NAPA and was a little concerned about the headlight bulb being too hot and melting the headlight lense.

This headlight bulb should be a hell of a lot brighter than the stock bulb.

    Anybody using these ???

I'll be curious to see what others use. I just noticed while driving in front of my wife while she was on the 900 LT, that her light was on, but you can hardly see it during the day. I told her to start using High Beam during the day, just so the other cars can see you.

I don't know if anyone else has done this, but beware, low beam during the day is not letting people see you.

I bought that bulb last summer and used it until 4th of July week. The low beam burnt out on me. It lasted about a year. Luckily I had a spare. But I think that I am going to try the PIAA light next time.

Hi REFUGIO, I like it, no complaints from me. With this brighter and different color of headlight along with the driving lights down low I believe help make me a bit more noticeable.

I tried the 80/100, but it burnt out in about 2 months. I'm now using the Sylvania Silverstar, same wattage as the stock, but even brighter than the 80/100.

I've got both on my bike. So far, so good. I did have an 80/100 once before but it only lasted about six months so keep your stock bulb handy.

    Yes- I am
The 2nd week I had my 900 LT I took Gadget's advice and switched over but to the H4 Silver Star instead.
It seems twice as bright as stock (probably not that much though). I keep my NOS one in the bag for emergencies. It was hard to find but the tail light was easy. I also changed to front turn signal lights to 2357's

That's why it is legal in 50 states to run high beams (and spots) during the day.

At night, we have the same restrictions as cages.

I used to burn out Silverstars in 6 months in my pickups.
I hate Sylvania and buy them only when I can't get Wagner or GE.

I've used both of these with no problems for about 8 months now. I also have a Kisan modulator on my headlight that is as effective as anything in letting peple see you. When you combine the modulator with a 100 watt bulb, you will be seen.
If it is to be, it is up to me.

Well.... I went to the NAPA store after work today and bought one of the 1210/H4...80/100 watt bulbs for my bike. Anyway... was driving along in my truck ( rain today ) going back home and decided to go to a Pep Boys Auto for some oil. While in there spotted some Sylvania Silverstar H4 bulbs.
Went ahead and bought one of those too. Can't seem to make up my mind of which bulb I wanted to use. I do use Silverstars in my truck's headlights and foglights and they are really noticably brighter.

Long story short.... When I got home... went ahead and put the Silverstar bulb in my bike's headlight. I wanted the higher wattage .... but I'm a little nervous about melting the lense with almost twice the wattage of the stock bulb. The Silverstar did seem brighter when turning it on in my garage but still wondering how much brighter the 1210 bulb would be.

The 80/100 is not any brighter than the Silverstar. But it will not melt the lense.

other than melting the lense is the extra power consumption to worry about.
at 100 watts (when you run high beam), you will be alot closer to the 10 amp max for the headlight circuit.
i am running one of those white light bulbs and can see alot better than with the stock bulb.
another option is the light bar. i ran a seperate circuit, and im running 2-55w bulbs. i now am running 165 total watts of light.
    talk about being visible!....lol

What is the wattage of the stock bulbs?
I'm tempted to try the PIAA bulb in the front. How much is they?
I'd like to have a bit more light. Currently running the stock bulbs in my 900.
I usually run high beams at night/early morning on the way to work.
