I've got an '05' Vulcan 800 Classic. I want to install a set of Vance & Hines Straightshots on it. Their catalog says they fit the '95-04" 800 Classic. Does anybody know if these will fit the '05' model?
Thanks.... |

Boy, I sure can't answer your question, but I have to say that I had Straightshots on my 800, and I loved them!
I think the only way to know for sure is to give V&H a call. Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

GL, I have a 05 800 classic with straight shots and they are great and not toooo loud with the stock baffle. You'll probably get a little popping on decel with them but there's really nothing you can do that wouldn't sacrafice something else..........for instance I had my dealer install a shim on the needle to richen it up a tad but the the mid throttle got a little sluggish. I had them take it out and zoooom, just the way I like it. They have great heat shields and can take a lot of abuse .

Uh-oh..... Well the pipes are already in so I'll find out Saturday if they'll fit. E-mail back from V&H isn't promising:
_____________________________ Unfortunately, NO, this will not fit. The flange contacts the fins severely and thus is not a fit for your year bike. -- Regards, Scott Takata Technical Support VANCE and HINES Tel: 562.921.7461 Fax: 562.802.0110 Tech@vanceandhines.com stakata@vanceandhines.com WWW.VANCEANDHINES.COM |

You just need to do a little grinding on the flange. Not unusual and been done by many. If you are conservative it shouldn't be noticable once installed. Just see where the are hitting the jug and grind a little away at a time until they fit.
