Default Are crash bars universal?

Im looking to put some used crash bars on my bike if it's possible to fit to save some money until I can buy new ones from WestendMotorsports.

I would think that some bars from other bikes would fit the 900 too? Am I wrong in assuming this?

Yes, you are wrong. Crash bars are made to fit specific models. Now, their may be a few bikes out there that cross over (ie. Mean Streak and Suzuki M95) but in general you will need to search out a bike specific model.

Crap, I was afraid of that. They are pretty pricey. But not as pricey if the bike falls over I guess.

Very true. It's money well spent. My highway bars have saved my bike a couple of times now.

I anguished for weeks over purchasing crash bars or not. Didn't want to ruin the lines of the bike I figured. Common sense won out and just prior to ur leaving for Red Lodge, MT I bought and installed crash bars.

When we pulled into the Motel parking lot in Red Lodge a few days later, I was so excited/tired I hopped off my new bike without putting the kickstand down.
She tipped over and came to rest on the crash bar. No damage, no scrapes, not a scuff.

So are they pricey, IMO....no way.

From the looks of it.. Ive found that the 1500s look to be a direct bolt up. Im trying to get ahold of a guy here in town that has one,.. but with no luck. If I can get measurements, Im ordering a set of Lindbys right away.
