Default What's the latest on V2k chirping, scraping noise

I had my V2K in at the dealers for something routine. I'd had no chirping or scraping noise. But the dealer wanted to do the front pulley recall inspection. I watched the mechanic do it and mine was clean.

But now, today, on a long ride, I started hearing the chirping coming from the general direction of the front pulley. I also started hearing a scraping, approximately same place.

What's the latest on these noises?

Could it have been from the headlight nacelle? Their are issues inside their supposadly with the brackets that hold the headlight rubbing and making scraping scratching noises.

I don't think so. THe scraping starts at about 70 mph. The chirping, higher. There was quite a lot of discussion on this point at one time. I'm a little surprised not to get more information from the peeps.

Any update on this noise? Are you going to take it back to the dealer for a looksie??

Seems like a noise that would be worrisome on a long trip.

My V2K is doing the same thing with the chirp I am taking it in tomorrow for the front pulley recall inspection and am going to have them look into the chirp at the same time.

If you think it might be the belt. Squirt some wd-40 on it go ride and if no chirping or scraping then I'd say its not adjusted correctly. Also have them recheck that they got the front pulley cover back on correctly. Just a few places to have them look.

Did it do this before they inspected your front pulley?

Is this just on the 04's? Or is this a problem on ALL of the V2K's??
