Default Removing rear tire on Vulcan 750!

Hello to all,
I needed to grease the shaft on my (04) 750 with 6k miles. Just wondering if I have to remove the right muffler or can I just take the shocks off and drop the frame low enough & take the axle bolt out?

Also, should I replace the O-ring? Kawasaki told me it shouldn't need replacing on 2004!

Thanks in advance for replies and happy riding!

I couldn't get the wheel to drop low enough while on the center stand.
I had to remove just the rear section of the right exhaust pipe to
get the axle out. It's an '06 so the o-rings were still good.
Do replace the cotter pin.
