Based on the absence of those V2K models in the photos from the dealer show in another thread, and as they are absent from any announcement I've seen, am I to conclude that other than the V2k LT the rest of the V2k models have been discontinued? Is it just me?

Blame Spok and LordGT ...they bought the very last V2Ks in existance.
(You were probably looking at a thread for new models for 2007/2008, not all of the models for 2007/2008 ...I'm pretty sure none of those V2Ks are being discontinued.)

No, there isn't. That was the first place I checked. The dealer show is over and the only V2K on the Kawasaki site is the 2007 LT. It just has the others as 2006s. Now, maybe the site hasn't been updated yet, but most manufacturers put up the new information on their web site as soon as the dealer show makes the announcement. And the dealer show always has old models with new paint jobs and bold, new graphics. Those were absent from the Kawasaki show, as far as anyone has reported. [B.T.W., I do like that '125' badge. Where'd that come from?] |

They are from a Suzuki TS 125. Found them from a dealer who had a matched pair of new ones. Ken

Why would you change something that is the BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD? No, I have a friend that owns a Kawasaki dealership in Harvey, LA and they just didn't change anything except colors for 2007. That purple/black and a glacier white/silver.

I went to a bike night last night...saw a few of the V2K rivals, the M109.
I also heard Suzuki bought Kawasaki...anyone else heard this? Or was this guy just drunk? Anyway, had a chance to give one of the M109's a run against the V2K, but I'd have left the wife, who is a new rider, and the group I was in, so I hung back...thinking to myself...Next time susie I hope they keep making the V2K. Other wise the after market stuff will dry up, and the dealers won't have parts as available as current models. I like riding a bike that is not so common, but at the same time you want enough of them out there so the manufacturer feels the need to continue production...it's a double edged sword.

The 2007 V2k has no mechanical/functional changes. From their web site, I see that Kawasaki has not offered the V2k Ltd for 2007, which should be good news for those of you who were well advised and got one. Are you listening, Vader?
The colors are not particularly inspiring, though the news isn't all bad. The regular V2k, the one with the real V2k headlight, is only available in one drab color combo, though it is two tone, Ebony/silver. It'll probably look pretty sharp, though it would be sharper with the Ltd wheels and covers. The Lt is out in a two tone already, and the Classic is either Ebony or Candy Red. So that's it, for 2007. |

At least they are still making the V2K line, so parts won't be so hard to get. But the extra chrome pieces may be a problem later on if someone were to need one. Of course they could always bring the Limited back if sales pick up on it or something. But I'm glad I got one before they quit making them. That means their aren't a gazillion bikes out there like mine...
