Vulcan 500 Windshields

What type of windshields do you have on your 500? The Kawasaki seems kind of short at 17 inches. I was thinking of the Memphis Shades 21 inch one with lowers...anyone have this one? If so, how difficult or easy was it to install? Any other suggestions for windshields? Thanks in advance!

I had the larger Kawi windshield when I started out on my 500. I am 6'1" and didn't have a problem with it mounted all the way up. I think it was 19".

Yes you can get Memphis Shades lowers and mounts to fit the 500, but they will have mixed results.

The problem with lowers is they need to match up to the windshield to get the proper benefit. So you might just buy the mounts and then cut your own lowers that fit up better than what Memphis Shades will sell you.

Ever see the stock OEM lowers on a Nomad ? They are practically useless for doing the job that lowers are intended to do. But the classy looking mounts that Kaw provides with those lowers are excellent so you just buy replacement lowers that fit up properly and you're good to go...

Not really. You just have to find the right adjustment. Each bike and rider are different and the type of helmet you wear makes a big difference. I had to mount my lowers in a low position to get the best benefit. Having them up close to the shield doesn't always work.
