Well it's been 3 days short of a month. I was waiting for the V2K induced High to wear off, but it seems to be lingering. I'm feeling high every time I throw my leg across it.
They should put a warning sticker on the V2K when new. Warning: Riders Beware, you may NOT want to return to the the smaller displacment bike you are currently riding. Debi and I were out on a ride last night before dark. I pulled over and let her take the V2K for the rest of the way home. Nice two lane country type road to start out on. She was intimidated at first, still is a bit. She never even blipped the throttle. She was in awe of the size and power she had sitting beneath her. But she had a big grin from ear to ear while riding it. Now me on the other hand, well I haven't been on the 900 LT since I got the V2K. I threw my leg across the 900 and immediately thought, I'm sitting on a sewing machine...lol...I start to move off and think ok, when is the power going to come on. Ok, Mike it's a 900, you gotta rev it some, aww, there she goes, she's moving out a bit better now...but it's NOT even in the same galaxy as the V2K. And WOW, I can flip this 900 around like it was a sport bike. I always thought of the 900 as a pretty large & heavy bike, and here I am throwing it around like a toy. I'm still thinking it sounds a bit like a singer sewing machine, she definately needs some pipes, as do I. Of course this is all realative. The 900 is not that small or light or slow. All I know, is I can NOT go back. I'm ruined, addicted, astonished, mystified, suprised, glassy eyed, high, floating on cloud 9, feeling the need for that Horsepower flying, tree stump pulling torque that keeps my blood at the boiling point. I'm forever ruined. And all this at 38 mpg in town running semi hard, and 45 mpg on the road so far. I went 203.5 miles on a tank yesterday, put in 5.0 gallons of gas and got 40.5 mpg. Half the miles were on two lane country roads, and the rest in town. Twisting the throttle and running up to 90mph in safe open areas is not uncommon. So I don't baby it. What's not to like about this bike? So if you'd like to ride a V2K, have at it, have fun, but DON'T do it for long, or you WON'T be going back. It will haunt your dreams, and consume your thoughts. The V2K isn't the fastest bike out there, it isn't the best handling bike out there, but it is definately at the top of the food chain. There is just something about that BIG powerful V-Twin and the feel of that sub woofer feeling thump, thump, thump, that you not only hear, but feel coursing through your veins, in sync with that thumping in your chest. You get used to it, it's natural, it consumes you. You are addicted to it and don't even know it. Ride another bike, go ahead, THAT, is when you'll feel like your going through withdrawls, like something is missing, like you NEED a fix. Some will disagree, and say I'm just another V2K junkie. Well.........your RIGHT!!! My name is Mike and I'm a V2K junkie. Ah hell, I gotta go ride for a while...seeeeeeeeeee ya!!!!

Hey Spok, I have searched the MOM, Rogue website, the VROC website and here, and I can NOT find any info telling me how big the V2K alternator is. Do you have any clue how much it puts out?

HI My Name Is Mike Also and I am a V2K Junkie, LMAO, that was great you should write for cruiser magazine. Seriously IMO :} I've got 7000 miles on mine since June and I still can not get enough. What I Like besides the power is how big it is because it makes it easier to clean when Washing it.

Although I love riding Missy, my 900 LT still gets love and attention has almost 3000 miles on her and is still loyal to me. She is great for the shorter romps around town, mail runs (20 miles round trip), and hasn't any problem with burning up the highway on longer trips into Reno or over to Chico. She is easier to handle then Missy, but she does lack that UMPH of the V2K. My 900 still gives me a rush when I straddle her
I must admit the rush that Missy gives me when I crack the throttle is obvious to all. She rockets away from traffic with ease, making things around me a blur, often my eyes start to water, my cheeks flush, my finger tips start to tingle and I get dry-mouth instantly (shouldn't be smiling so much). Wonder if I could mount a bag of Fritos on the handlebars someplace? What a trip to be on!!! We had better stop talking like this or some fool will make the V2K illegal or try to tax us by the mile! Ken

It's more than just power. The power isn't even that overwhelming, though it's there. The V2K is a lot better owners experience altogether than jsut the sum of its parts.
I hardly even ride my Tiger anymore, and the Tiger is the best bike I ever owned. |

Fortunately, I stumbled into one used that looked like it rolled off the showroom floor. The initial owner was an avid hunter and decided to purchase a 4-wheeler as the season grew near. I was looking to buy new, but couldn't pass up the deal with 8500mi., windshield, bags and air kit for under $10.

Well, I don't own a V2K, so I can't hope to know the feeling. But I do know how I felt when I traded my 800 for the 1500 Classic. As great as the 800 was (and I wouldn't mind having it, too, for quick jaunts around town), I could never go back when it comes to cruising. I love the 1500.
Having said that, I'm not ever going to even TRY riding a V2K, especially after hearing about Debi's experience. Just paid this one off. Can't be tempting myself.
