One poster here said that a pre-1983 HD fairing would bolt up to the stock windshield mounts on a 900.
I am looking to put that very same one onto my 04 NOMAD. Should I be able to do the same thing as he did with his 900? Anyone have experience with this type of procedure??? |

Lots of companys manufactures HD style fairings for Nomads. I have one from Premeux on mine. But I heard of someone making a braket to bolt a HD fairing on a Nomad. I think Nightflight as one. On Gadget's website, there's a page explaine how to install one on your Nad. As for installing one on a 900 Classic, I'm sure somebody will come up with something. When there's a will, there's a way.

I forgot! Corbin, the manufacturer of fine seats, is making a fairing for the 900 Classic. Lobocops wife as one and it looks fantastic.

The Corbin Fairing on the wifes is great! Good wind protection for the hands and arms. Gets rid of that annoying helmet bobble too! Now she wants a stereo installed, when will it ever stop!
You can see her bike at the Corbin web page posted by Desoto above.

Thanks for the reply guys. I bought a fairing from a 1983 HD. I fella on this board sold it to me. I can't wait to get it and start working on it
--->PROJECT!!! He said that it bolted right up to his stock 900 windshild brackets, I was wondering if it would do the same on my NOMAD. I guess I will have to wait for the BIG BROWN TRUCK to come!!!! DES, That link to CORBIN has sweet fairing on it!! The only issue I have with aftermarket (NEW) fairings is the hefty price tag. Since I can do the glass work (if needed) as well as the paint and clear, I thought I would go used. 1000+ for a fairing is too much for my Vegas blood. Heck, I gotta hang out with you rich guys! |

Ya, you 900 guys are lucky.
All that's ready-made (from Corbin) for the 1600 is that bugscreen that looks like it came from a triceritops. That thing is fugly!

Now I'm kinda curious... on the Quadzilla and other fairings that ship in black gelcoat... can they be left unpainted if they're going on a black or 2-tone bike?

They can be run w/o painting. The fiberglass fairings have what is known as gelcoat as their color base and it is actually a form of colored fiberglass resign, shines nice for lots of years, takes wax very well to. The plastic ones can be left without paint also. Ken
