Thumbs down FYI on Corbin Beetle Bags for Vulcan 2000

FYI to everyone: This is an old thread from last November that got resurrected. See my post #7 below in this thread responding to JoeCruiser's post #5.

I already posted this info on the Delphi forum so please disregard this if you saw it over there.

A couple of months ago I send an email to Corbin telling them they should get on the ball and start making Beetle Bags that would install on Vulcan 2000's with sissybars mounted on them. I got tired of waiting to hear back from them so I went ahead and ordered hard bags from Champion. Well, the UPS guy just delivered my bags from Champion and five minutes later when I checked my email I got the below response from Corbin:

Thanks for writing and we appreciate your feedback. We've received a few requests for sissy bar-enabled beetle bags on the VN2000, so it's something we'll forward to R & D for consideration. Seems a lot of you Vulcan owners want your storage space along with passenger support - hey it's only natural that if you have a passenger, you have the space to store their stuff right?

If you happen to be a member of an online forum, maybe you can post a thread gauging interest in a redesigned beetle bag system to accommodate a sissy bar/luggage rack setup.

I hope this info helps - if you have any other questions feel free to give us a call at 800-223-4332 or 800-538-7035 (or 831-634-1100 outside the US) and one of our reps will be ready to assist you. Thanks for your interest with Corbin, it's much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Michael Alva
    Corbin Saddles

At this point I don't really give a rat's *** what Corbin does with their V2K beetle bags as I got my new Champion bags and I'm sure I'll be happy with them. I'm just posting this so that others who might want Beetle bags on their Vulcan 2000's with passenger backrests should send emails to Corbin telling to get with it. Maybe then they will do what they should have done from day one and start making them with this option. Thanks for letting me rant.

    Yeh, same here. Pictures, pictures?

I for one, don't care for the look of the Beetle Bags anyways.

Sorry, I'm still at work. I gotta take them home, unpack them, get them mounted up and THEN I'll post some pics - hopefully later tonight.

    Default Patience is a virtue

They have them now. I also like the Streamliner trunk.

My patience with Corbin ran out a long time ago. I have Patriot hard bags from Champion Sidecars on my bike now.

I actually like them better than the Beetle bags as they are larger and have a more Classic look to them.

That's cool. As long as you're happy with them. If Corbin didn't come out with the new setup, I probably would have choosen Champion bags.

Ditto... those look very nice. They aren't cheap, but look to be bigger than the National Cycle or LeatherLyke options.
It's hard to find any kind of removable bag that doesn't stick out like that... it's just an unfortunate fact of life. The only way around it is to remove the fender brace covers and form the bag around it, then you lose the ability to quickly remove and replace them.
