    Default Fuel cap

    Help. I just bought a 2001 classic 1500 FI and have a bad gas leak aroung the cap. Does anyone know an easy fix? Thanks.

    Have you checked the condition of the rubber seal on the cap? Make sure it is not cracked (or missing).

    I've checked the gasket and there's an O-ring there, too. Seems OK. The local dealer tells me just to not fill it all the way up. Hard not to.

    You should not fill it up past the bottom of the neck inside the cap.
