Default 2007 Vulcan 900 custom in red is hot!

I have not really been a fan of the 900 custom. I have seen it in pictures, and a blue one in the dealership, and liked my 900 classic more. Yesterday I saw one in red and it looks SO MUCH BETTER in red!!! I looked at a red classic when I was going to buy, however the red didn't look as good as my black one (IMHO), but if the custom was out in red when I was buying it would have been a hard choice!!!

My wife and I both rode the Custom at the CW show 2 weeks ago. We both thought it was a really fun bike to ride, quite different from the classic and LT. It is a naked bike, light weight and very maneuverable. It is a small MeanStreak. Bags and windshields are not for this bike. We may buy one to ride the local twisties and keep out cruisers for longer trips.

Enjoy the ride!

I admit being a little biased, but I have to agree with cow's assessment.

Default The custom looks really cool

I agree. I like its wheel better with large spoke, more like a sport one. Its weight is 9 lbs lighter than the classic, not that much. But I wonder a thin front wheel might not have a good traction as on the classic. I like my Classic so much when cornering because it's so stable and good traction to the road.

Contact patch is about the same size.

Handling is better with a narrow tire, bike turns in quicker and easier.

Makes the front end feel a lot lighter too.

I'm confused. I had no problem getting a red 2007 custom.

Yeah, I kinda like the red myself. Besides, the red ones are the fastest ones I have been told.

i think the 07 Red is different from the 08 Red......the 08 is more of a cherry red.........

The classic red just wasn't for me either, it is almost a dull red. When I was looking at 900's, I had a choice of either blue, or red and the just didn't do it for me. On the other hand, the red Custom, that looked nice, but I liked the style of the Classic better. You know, the front fender and the rear that dropped down behind the tire?

I've heard that. The black ones can get up and go and the blue ones are not to be disregarded, either!

I dont know about that ,but I did hear and beleive that the black 900 c paint sucks as far as holding up .It is like there is only one coat of paint and clearcoat.

Hey, I could even think of getting my black 1500 painted that "candy red"! It really looks good!

I would have to agree.

I was very close to getting the '07 in red but as I showed up to buy it, someone was getting ready to ride off into the sunset on it. Fortunately, I had already called their other shop and found out they had one in blue and I was already considering changing my mind. So that did it. I had them call the other shop and mark it "sold", site unseen. I have not regretted it.
