Talking Cobra Light Bar Questions...Help?

Hi folks, I'm pretty new to riding. I bought my first bike in May'06 (2006 Classic 1600). I'm now starting to add mods and just bought (will receive it tomorrow) the Cobra Light Bar. In preparation for the install I've been reading that the wires need to be extended if I want to run the wires internally.

Can someone tell me the size wire i should use to extended the front turn signal wires? are they #18 or #20?

Any tips on the installation would be appreciated.

thanks

Sorry, Classic, I don't know for sure, but the smaller number will be the safer of the two, if you are not sure.

By the way, congrats on the great choice of bikes!!!!

According to the table I looked at, at 12V DC for a wattage of 70 Watts (2 bulbs of 35 Watts), #18 Wire is good for around 16 Feet. You might be better going for #16 Wire, you know you'll be safe there. 70 Watts translates to 5.83 Amps.

Here is a link to the table: http://www.securitypower.com/AN2Wire.html

The light bar comes with #18 wire for the two spot lights. I'm more concerned with the size wire I should use to extend the stock turn signal wires?

Sorry, you did say that, and I forgot.

You should be able to get away with the same size wire that's on them already. If you cannot tell, just use the #18, as they will be less wattage than the spots.
