I went to Biketobertfest in October of last year, and there was every type of bike and rider there. I would assume that Biketoberfest and Bike week draw many of the same people to both events. For the two days that I was there, everyone got along.

I think times are slowly changing. I saw all types of bikes at Myrtle Beach last year. It was primarily HD though.

i understand what you are saying i dont think people really care what type of bike you own just as long as you ride it and not trailer it everywhere

I was down last year. About 50% HD -- the rest were metric cruiser, sportbikes and ALLOT of customs.

It was all good... and a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun.

Rich...you can hang with us. Are you staying over night? We were planning just on going for a day trip. Three Kaws and Two Honda Davidsons. People are generally fine...but as with any large event there are jerks mixed in. When we went last year a guy rode his bike through Crabby Joe's Restaurant on Sunglow Pier...what an @$$.

No WAY is it like that at all. Harleys represent only about 50% of the bikes you see. The rest are all mixes of Pro-Streets, Choppers, Customs, and a large portion of Metrics. I've been to Bike Week, Biketoberfest and Mytle Beach Spring Rally the last two years in a row and as they say.... "Times, they are a'changin'."

I even saw multiple Mean Streaks and stopped and talked to a couple of them. Don't sweat riding a Metric. Everybody down there is like your brother. They don't care what you ride, just that you ride. Maybe some do, but I never met any of them and I met tons of peeps.

As for the rest of your Q: The main place to hit are... Main Street, of course. Then, "Destination Daytona" the huge HD complex on Hwy 1 off I95. Don't be daunted by it being a HD dealership. They'll have the largest concentration of vendors, stages and acts/bands, other unique stuff like dyno drags and whatnot. It, and Main Street, are "THE" places in Daytona. Then there are small places to also visit on the way there you'll pass by. There's also usually stuff going on inside Daytona Itn'l Raceway, and it's cool to ride inside through the tunnel.

As for just cruising, there's some good beach scenery if you do the loop. Go here and look for "The Loop" on the page and it'll give you some photos and turn by turn directions. It's cool.

Well I go every year, either with a crew or not it's good to get out of a Vermont winter for a week or 2. Now if you want to know what to do or what I think is great is take a ride to the keys, key west and take the lake route and then 27 down you can see that on the map, it's all counrty ridding. From Daytona it's about a day ride and the keys are about 125 miles long BUT nice. OH ya and say off the 4th floor at the bar they call Adam and Eve.
Take care.....

My favorite place to hang is out at the speedway. All the manufacturer's are set up there and you can test ride any bike you want. Also there are plenty of vendors and not just the T-shirt and trinket ones. Also, Destination Daytona is getting huge. The vendors there cater mostly to Harley but not exclusively. Also, Arlen Ness and Triumph have dealers there. Its a good place to go. But go early unless you love crowds and bumping into people.

J & P Cycles has a new Daytona location coming soon. They are great people to deal with.

Last time I was there (Octorber '06) there was a new Ducati dealership at "Destination Daytona", as well.

I was trying to hold out for Myrtle Beach. I may have to go to Daytona too.

I think Myrtle Beach is a better rally. That's just one person's opinion, though. And both are fun.
