Here are some pics of my V2K that some people have asked to see. Sorry it took so long.
These pics show the HK Sideburner Pipe, which looks better if the pic is taken towards the back of the bike instead of broadside like I took the pic. Also the Baron's Big Air Kit or BAK is shown here also. It's cool looking, and says V Twin 125 c.i. And it doesn't get in the way of your leg while riding. Also one pic shows the 240 Rear Tire "G" twisted my arm into buying... Here's the Warning part: I had the Sideburner, PC III and BAK installed and then had the V2K Dyno Tuned. When I got it back, the FI lite was on, it was hard to start in the mornings or when cold, the Fast Idle was not working and I just recently found out that the Fan was NOT coming on. Thankfully it's been cool enough here that I didn't have any over heating Problems. My ride to work is NOT Stop n GO, it's mostly Goooooo, Thank goodness... ![]() I thought the Fan issue was a separate issue. NOPE!!! Took it to the dealer, and he found that a cable that controls the Fan was plugged into the wrong connector. Apparently there are several like connectors under the tank and if your not careful, you can plug cables in to the wrong connector. He moved the cable to the correct connector, and WHAM!!!! It started up in about 3 revolutions this morning, stone cold, and I gave it NO Throttle, the Fast Idle is working again, the FI light is out, the Fan comes on, and I think it runs a little stronger on the bottom end. I believe that it wasn't getting the proper Air/Fuel mix information because the Atmospheric Pressure Sensor was in error and it was possibly running rich to keep the engine cool and or make up for the incorrect sensor reading. So if someone Dyno's their V2K, and you have those similar problems, have them take that tank back off and correct their goof. I did lose about 3 ounces of Antifreeze out of the overflow a couple of days ago, when it started getting warmer here, and hence I started really looking into the problem. NO Fan, straight to the Shop and 2.5 hours of time, and $179 later. Something I should have NOT had to pay for. But being a good Dealer, they told me on a PRIOR visit to the dealer they would make it up to me next time for a small error on their part when they installed my 240 rear tire and didn't adjust the belt correctly. Well they made good on their promise, and the $179 fee was waived, Free! No Cost to ME!!! Hence they still have my business, great Customer Support/Relations, and we will keep spending money there. Debi ordered her 900 LT lowers while we were there. And they will do her Pipes, PC III and Air Kit when we get to it. As I left the Dealer, they were closing, there were about 6 of them including the Finance mgr that we bought both our bikes from all standing outside throwing a football around. I proceeded to leave and in the long stretch from the Showroom to the street I showed them how easily the V2K & that 240 Rear Tire can dig a trench in the Black Top. My wife in the car behind me says they were all Cheering, so as I got onto the street and made my Uturn, I lit her up again and left with a smile, Debi says they were all cheering again. I'm glad I made their day, because they SURE made MINE!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very sharp looking bike. I'm not normally a fan of the HK Sideburner because it's so big and tends to take over the look of the bike but it looks great on the V2K.
Can't help noticing the trees in the picture have leaves on them. Someday in the not too distant future our trees will also be covered by leaves.

The side burner looks good on your bike "LGT" ,I've been seeing a few of these 2 into 1 pipes on bikes and the look is starting to grow on me. Hows it sound compared to the 2 into 2 pipes most of us are running? Is it quieter at idle and while cruising and then get louder when you open it up?

They gave it to me for $180 plus $9.99 shipping. But my Dealer will match any online price. So if your dealer will do that, you can get a pretty good deal. I think there was a $30 fee to change the tire also. But the Dealers standard price for the Normal 200 rear tire was about the same price. So if your dealer doesn't deal like mine, then the 240 could get a little pricey. I think it takes a tad more push to make the bike turn, but it's so minimal it's not worth mentioning. It's a heavy Cruiser, so it will never be super nimble. Now putting a 240 on a Sport Bike may really affect the handling of that type of bike. A 240 will sure look good on the back of that new V2K your riding... ![]()

At idle it's pretty tame, but you DO hear/feel it thumping... ![]() It's such a different sound I'm having a hard time comparing it to a 2 into 2. I need to find someone with a camcorder and make a sound byte, but you really need a subwoofer on your PC to hear it correctly. If not, they all sound the same, no umph!!! no THUMP! When you open her up, she's quite loud, but it's a different loud, not as loud or obnoxious as the Harley, Open, Straight Drag pipes your used to hearing. One of the oddities of this pipe is it is turned outwards. So sometimes when your next to a car, fence or some object, you hear reflections, and you think you have an exhaust leak. Bugged the heck out of me for a while. But I guess it's because the sound doesn't go straight out the pipe towards the rear. I think the sound on the Sideburner gets reflected at the bend outward, some sound trying to go straight back, while pervious sounds are bouncing off the curve and the sounds are colliding. You don't hear the sound I'm talking about when the pipe is NOT pointed toward a solid object. It may sound like a big deal but it's not, it's just something to be warned of, so you don't think you have an exhaust leak when sitting next to a car at a stop light. Since the pipe is so large at the end, I think it sounds more like a car exhaust with the old Lake Pipes, than a bike exhaust. Remember the old Lake pipes, one on each side of the car, under the body between the wheel wells? They point outwards., and were 4 into 1 pipes. Like you said, it took a while for this pipe to grow on me. The look wasn't the standard Cruiser look I was looking for, but it was different, and the V2K is large enough to make it look good. And someone is making a Quiet Baffle for it. If you search on VTX Quiet Baffle, you'll see it. They make them for the Sideburner used on the VTX 1800, but it's probably the same pipe after the collector. So the baffle would probably fit both. It's about $39 I think, they tell me NOT one of them have been returned since they started selling them, and they are supposed to only take the edge off of the sound. It's still really loud at WOT, but they say you can slip out of the neighborhood late at night without bother the neighbors too much. Heck my neighbor across the street says he could hear the thumping of my stock exhuast coming thru his roof vents. That thumping noise just travels I guess.

Yeah, I'd wait. The 200 is a big tire all by itself. I'd wait until I had to change it. Let's face it, they don't last that long on the back... ![]()

Sweet Mike, sweet.
That sure is one beefy looking beats you have there! And i agree, that I never liked the look of the Afterburner before I saw it on a V2K. It's about the only bike that can do justice to a pipe that large. Good job. Ps. You aren't getting any sympathy for your overheating issues from me...........none. "started getting warmer here" he boasts.

The bike looks great and it sounds like the pipes, air kit, PC III and dyno tuning have added some real oomph!! I'm just curious - did you have before and after mods dyno runs done on the bike, and if so, how much HP and torque did you gain?

Looks great GT!
I said it before and I'll say it again, the '06 Limited color scheme is my favorite. I would love to have the 'extras' that came with the upgrade. The airbox looks awesome and a bike that size carries off the sideburners perfectly! Sweet!!!!!

Something wrong with your camera? It only takes 3 pictures at a time?
Or maybe with your computer? You can only post 3 pictures at a time? I think your bike might look real good, its so hard to tell though, what with so little evidence and everything. Im thinking maybe you should post more pictures, that way we can be completely positive that you have a good looking bike. Ya, I think thats what you ought to do. Post up more pictures, after all you wouldnt want us to get the wrong idea now would ya. |

Awesome ride, LGT, thx for posting the pics and sharing the info. I like the HK pipes, may think about some for mine down the road.
