Ezzie, what is the origin of your chrome radiator guard?

“Too much chrome is barely enough”
The radiator cover is from H.a.c. I ordered it through my dealer. Spendy but I love it.

Yeah, I'm at my limit too. I spent $1200 on bling... but it's gonna be awesome.
Sterling Chromite control cables will be here Friday.

CBR74, have you done anything, or plan to do anything to hide on conceal the wiring on the handle bars? Would like to see some pics of the bike when you get it back together, and see how you found fitting the cables etc.

Yes I have. I'm having Scootworks make me a custom set of Phatrisers with a wire port drilled through them. Once they arrive I will be running the wires from the the inside of the switch boxes, down the bars, through the risers and through the upper triple tree. From the bottom of the triple tree on they will be wrapped in Taylor convoluted wire loom. (in chrome, of course) The stealth wire look combined with the shine of the Sterling Chromite II cables and Goodridge Platinum brake line should (I hope) make for a very custom look/feel.

I think I am going to stick with braided clutch and throttle cables. I think it would be relatively straight forward. I think to run the throttle cable through the throttle housing requires an open cable. (Correct me if I am wrong) If thats the case how do you crimp the cable end?

I don't feel confortable playing with the brake line! And hiding the wires is a good idea, but that sounds like allot of work. CBR are you a mechanic?

No, I'm a tinkerer and electrical/electronics are my specialty. You misunderstood what it is I'm planning. The clutch and throttle cables will be routed normally(gotta show off that Sterling Chromite II finish) as will the Goodridge PLatinum brake lines but the electrical wires (horn, signals, clutch switch, brake switch, hi/lo beam, starter button, kill switch) will be routed through the bars. It isn't terribly difficult if you're comfortable with cutting and re-splicing wires back together.

I know what your plan is, I just didn't know the level of difficulty to rewire everything. One point I wanted to make is the throttle cable. I tried to remove it for lubrication, but I do not think the cable end peice can fit through the hole. I suppose you would need to run the cable and crimp the end peice?

BTW where are you getting your Chromite cables? I am looking for something that will be a exact fit for the Vulcan 900. I don't want to have to cut cables to length.

I bought the full set of Magnum Shielding: throttle, idle, and clutch.

They should be here tomorrow and we'll see how difficult the install is

900 KING... nah. I have no performance mods at all (nor desire for any) and while I do have a significant amount of bling... there are certainly others that can rival me. (in sheer quantity if nothing else)
She is one of a kind though... you won't find any other 900's with a backwards K on the radiator cover or wires stealthed through a set of Scootworks Phatrisers.

The 900 Custom sure is a nice machine... especially in that gorgeous Plasma Blue. (if only that color were available on the Classic in '06) You get one of those and I'll be happy to offer advice, insight and part #'s.

Show Chrome rear axle caps shipped today, the least of the bling that I'm waiting on but any bling is good bling.
