Well Someone else asked further up and well I will ask again....
How much further does the hypercharger stick out then the stock air cleaner?
    Thanks

i've got the Pro-R which is the biggest of the lot and i don't even notice the difference between stock.

I'm 5'7" with 30" leg and i really don't feel it touching my leg at all. Sometimes it might brush the inside of my knee but that's very rarely.

this is the best i can do with a before and after pic:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I installed a Kuryakyn Pro-Series Hypercharger with a Thunder Adapter the other week on my 2007 Vulcan 900 Custom. It's a fairly easy install and should take about 30 minutes to complete. I had the Kawasaki Dealer's Service Department check my work to make sure it was done correctly...and it was.

The Thunder Adapter for the VN900 is Part#40205A (This is a Hypercharger only adapter...please do not confuse it with the other Thunder Adapter for the VN900 (Part#20205B) which is for Thunder Air kits such as the Tornado, Hurricane, etc...
    I installed the Kuryakyn Pro-Series Hypercharger Type-A, Part# KA-609421.

If you plan on installing a PCIII and/or new pipes along with the Hypercharger, then I would recommend that a Kawasaki Dealer do the work instead...since they'll have to properly map the PCIII to the Hypercharger and pipes.

Anyway, here are the Step-by-Step Hypercharger install instructions (10 photos)...Good Luck:

This is the greatest set of instructions I have ever seen. Great job.

Ok so where do I order them from? Phat doesn't have it listed. Also I would assume that I would need something like the PI2000r or something like that if they was installed.

Well i ordered my hypercharger and adapter direct from the adapter manufacturer Thunder Mfg. i had to wait a month for the hypercharger though as it was on order. I specifically wanted the Pro-R hypercharger and not many places carried it (who would also ship to the UK)

MeanCycles sell a 'package' with the basic hypercharger AND the adapter for about the price of just the hypercharger.

You'll need a fuel manager like the Cobra FI2000r or the Power Commander PCIII. I think Kuryakyn (who make the hypercharger) also have their own FI controller. The PCIII is $100 more than the other 2, but is much more flexible. But for a cruiser which wouldn't be seeing any track time, i didn't see the point in wasting $100 for a coulple of extra horsepower.

Have you seen any drop in gas mileage with the addition of the air kit? Even with the V&H pipes and Cobra II EFI controller, I'm still getting in the 45 mpg range ... would hate to lose that for a little more power.

Its funny I went to the dealer and asked them about the Hypercharger install
with the fi2000r they said you had to install the powercomander instead of the fi2000r got a feeling that they are always trying to jack me up

Keep in mind that the original post was 4-7-07... a year and a half ago, and only a little over a year since the 900 was introduced.
It is very possible that there was NOT a proper adapter for the 900 when the original post was made, but it became available later.

I've not actually worked out my mpg but before i put the FI200r and HC on i was getting about 200 miles before my fuel warning light comes on.
Lately it's been around 180-190 before the light comes on... So i imagine there is a slight reduction in economy, but I have been a little more active with my right wrist due to the awesome noise and kick i get since installing them

LOL ... sounds like my right foot some days. If you're talking a reduction of 10-20 miles/tank, that's roughly 2-4 mpg ... not all that much. Might be time to do a little (more) shopping!

Is it the Cobra II or a different one? Is there anything I can do to help?

I finally got to do some night riding after installing the new high-output bulb and the silver bullet running lights--worked like a dream. Really gave me good visibility.

Anyway, if there's anything I can do, just let me know.

Love my Hypercharger. 07 900 classic with the thunder adaptor. Instructions sucked but it was easy to figure out.

Well firstly the headlights are side mounted in the UK and my aftermarket is bottom mounted, so i'm having a friend fabricate a nice slick mount so that it doesn't look like it was made in a garden shed

It's not the Cobra II and it's very different to anything i've seen on a cruiser before My mechanic friend is helping me with it, but thanks for the offer. If i get stuck with Kawa wiring, i'll be asking questions here
I've got 2 bullet lights i'm putting on my engine bars too...

    sneaky peek:
