Just got this from them today!! They havent set the price yet.
The new front pulley will be ready sometime next week. It will have 2 more teeth on it to help at highway speeds. Also we are working on a new rear pulley that will have 4 less teeth. The two pulleys will sold as a set for alot of rpm reduction at highway speeds or just the front for a small difference in rpm's. the total kit should be ready by the first of May. If they are similar then the front cog should put the speedometer right on the mark. Going down 2 in the front and 4 in the back, you might get some speeding tickets? To bad they sell them in pairs, one would be enough. This will be great at highway speeds however,............you will notice a loss in torque. The bike will loose it's snap when you crack the throttle.

I would like to have a smaller front or larger rear to give the bike more torque but it would throw the speedo out more than it is now!

Yahoo could mean the difference between trading up and keeping my baby. Love my 900 LT buttttt it needs to rev less at highway speeds (65-70 miles per) yes I am A old fart not out to rip the road up but to cruise.

Going big in the front reduces RPM and smaller in the rear also.

Can someone explain to me what this truly means? What kind of results can be expected by adding a larger pulley in the front alone? What about combining this with a smaller pulley in the rear? Why? Can someone please explain the logic in how this works? Also, should we expect this to cost very much? Is this something that is easily added? Are longer or shorter belts needed? I know this is a lot of questions but everyone is so excited I just want to know what this all means.

What it means is, by the time you spend the money for the new pulleys to lower the RPMs on the highway, then spend the money on performance parts to give it the power it had BEFORE the pulley change, you will have as much into the Bike as a 1600 costs.

When it comes to chains you had some choices on reducing the teeth of the rear socket. Personally I would like to slightly reduce RPM at highway speeds to minimize the loss in low end torque.
If they have a rear pulley in Chrome I am sold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 |
