Mine is quite simply 'The Mistress', as she will always be the other woman in my life. That, and she's expensive to keep, maintain, etc. ad nauseum.

Just like a Mistress.

Haven't come up with a name for the 900 yet, but you can see what the V2K is being called lately

Question.

If a bike is rode by a he/she at front and she/he on the rear, is that an hermaphrodite bike?

I refer to it as "the bike". My previous bike was also "the bike", and so will my next one.

This is really a funny thread. My daughter JUST asked me last weekend if my Black 900 was a girl or a boy. She's only 8 and I had to explain that I think of it as a girl. So she then insisted it have a name. I told her to pick one out. She came up with all kinds. Sally...naw...Betty...naw. Then she walked away and I thought that was the end of it.

2 hours later and completley out of the blue she turns to me and says "Her name is the Black Pearl" It took me a minute or so to figure out what she was even talking about. But I have to admit it....nice name LOL. Even if she got it while we were watching Pirates

Sid, I was originally calling her Missy as a short for mistress of my wallet. Lynn decided she didn't like competition for my wallet so Missy is now the Red Witch

Default More than one bike

If you have/own more than one bike, can you have male and female bikes?

Are some bikes more male than female? Just curious.

Thanks guy. A friend owns a shop that does that kind of work for all the local emergency vehicles and she is the one that came up with the Red Witch idea (and lettering).

Have three Vulcans here and they are all ladies, deserve extra fine treatment, some shiney jewelry on occassion, some fun petting and a good workout as often as possible.

The 1500 never gives me any trouble, isn't moody or temperamental, doesn't mind going out in the rain, wind. doesn't care if I haven't washed it for a couple of weeks, starts on the first touch. I think it's a guy.

Yeah, I hear ya!

The ThumpinKwaka has definite masuline overtones, I don't think a lady has the same roar/grunt. Whereas an old TS185 Suzi (sold) we had was called Twinkle Toes because of the H/L range g/box, you could dance over anything on that mud lark. Twinkle Toes sounds girlie and she sure sounded like one, even with the baffle removed!

Just a thought, in this 'politically correct' world we live in, are we tending to use more none gender names just to avoid offending others or being branded/sued for discrimination?

What are the generic names you use?

E.g. I use all and any of the following, list is not exhaustive. (Ah, I guess my bike has multiple personalities).

the bike as in "the bike is mine!"
the beast as in "yeah, it's a beast of a bike"
the machine as in "gotta ride the machine now!"
the Kwaka as in "booked the Kwaka in for some new rubber."
the thumper as in "just taking the thumper for a spin! Coming?"
the mile eater as in "what kept you dude?"
the curve hugger as in "man, I scraped the pipes again"
the red rocket, candy apple heaven etc as in the colour of the bike

Hey ppl, add your own!

Doesn't matter what we call 'em, I guess deep down we love our bikes be they boy or girl and that's what matters.

I can relate to that (and don't the ladies like their bling blings!).

Just hope you're not a slave to them. j/k
"My bike is my master" and "I'm a slave to my bike" used to be some of my mottos. Nowadays that I can buy a bike outright with cash, yeah that does feel nice, guess who's the Master?
