New bike being delivered this Friday to a Garage that has a Lexus SUV and a Cadi STS as residents.
Garage is not full of much (Cars and a Lawnmower) Been told that you can fit bike in with the cars and was hoping some of you have mastered this configuratrion and would appreciate any advice to keep Bike (and cars) safe. |

I do it. I have my bike parked crossways in front of one car against the wall. My lawn mower is down the middle between the two cars, not an ideal place, but it works. Of course I drive a little VW Jetta which is shorter than either of your vehicles.

Well, when we built our new house, I intentially built a 3 car garage so i would have a place for the toys, but we did come from a 2 car and it was tough but we made it work.
We had her car, my full size crew cab truck, the riding lawn mower and some other things. I hung a couple tennis balls on strings from the ceiling of the garage so we would both know exactly how far we "had" to pull up just to get the garage door closed. The garage door only missed our bumpers by about 1". This left room in front of her car for my bike and the mower in front of my truck. It was so tight that I had to walk behind my truck to get into the house because I would only miss the mower by just a couple inches. It was a tight fit, but it worked. Good luck man!

Can't answer your question, but I thought I'd throw in that all I have is a one car carport with an f150 and a little saturn, plus my 900 custom and my Dad's non-running CB650. The bikes get the carport and my wife parks in the driveway. It was her idea too.

Ditto on the tennis balls. I keep the bike closest to the garage door and have placed a line of tape down so I know the exact angle to bring the bike in so that I can clear my wife's car when I back the bike out in the mornings. It is a tight fit (2-3 inches) but I have never had any problems since I figured out how to make it all work.

It'll fit. I have a Blazer, a 300zx, 2 motocross bikes, a trail bike, the VN900, a treadmill and a decent gym in my 2 car garage. And I still have room enough to open the doors to get in and out of the cars. It's a little tight, but I think there may be a lot of extra room built into my garage.

I found out the other day that I can fit my Toyota truck, my wife's Kia and my Nomad in the garage at the same time. I also have two workbenches, the lawn tools and other stuff in there to work around. It was super tight, but at least now I know I can do it if we get a hail threat again. Without one of the workbenches, it wouldn't be an issue.

Welcome to the forum, I bet you'll figure out something on the garage configuration. I took up half of my 2 car garage with a tournament ping pong table, and I store crap for both of my kids (who moved out), so my bike gets part of the other half and the car gets to stay outside...

I have a one car garage. My tools and bike are inside and my Colorado and my wife's Passat sit in the driveway..... priorities, ya know.

I made a thing that lets me slide the bike right up against the garage wall so it takes up minimum space.
I covered a 1/4" by 1' by 4' piece of plywood with a thin (1/16") sheet of teflon. When I roll the rear wheel on to the board I can slide it sideways to tuck it up against the garage wall. Sometimes I put a wooden block under the sidestand to straighten the bike. The more vertical the bike, the less room it takes up. Sherm

I had the 2 car garage and I always let the bike have a spot and put a remote car starter on my car for the cold winter mornings. I now have an extra deep 3 car, so everyone gets their own spot.
I do have a neighbor who parks his bike against the wall in front of his Jeep Cherokee. He uses one of these: http://www.tailswinger.com/

With out a doubt, ditch one of the cars outside and give the bike the room it deserves in the garage.

Tight fit here also! The bike goes in front of the wife's Elantra. The rear of the bike hangs over my half with the Taho. I have to back in to have enough room to open the door to get out. I honestly have only about 1' to play with before I'd hit the bike. After 2 days, I built stands with pvc pipe and a flag on a wire, that lines up with the rear window. Back in, tap pvc, flag waves, I stop. Been working fine for about a year. Thought about the tennis balls, but, backing in, I can see the flag movement sooner. With the wife's car out, I can walk the bike out and in, so I only need to move 1 vehicle.
