Default VN800 classic tire pressure

Hi,

I just got myself a 1997 VN800 classic, unfortunately I have yet to get hold of an owner manual. Most of the stuff I needed to know I have found on this forum / the web, I can't seem to find a definetive answer to the simple (yet important ) question of what tire pressure to use.

Anyone able to help me out here?

The max cold psi will be on the sidewall of the tire, go with that. If you can't find it on there, then go with 40 front, 40 rear.

My VN750 was 36 front, 38 rear, but 40/40 is easier to remember and should work just fine.

My book says 28psi for the front and 28psi (215lb load) or 32psi (399lb load) for the rear.

Don't go by the book, it's too low. Go with the max cold psi on the tire, the bike will ride and handle much better, and the tires will last much longer.
