Default Fixed the V2K headlight rattle

It's raining and cold here in ND. The whole damn week has been cold rainy and windy. We need the rain though. So I didn't ride much this week, Today rained all day so I decided to find the annoying rattle on the 2K

Well when I rode the other day I narrowed it down to the headlight, which you folks here pointed out as well. So I took the damn thing apart tonight. Really easy task too by the way!! I found that the little plastic nut that the headlight aiming screw turns into is the source of the rattle. Well at least on of them. So I unscrewed the headlight assembly from the chrome nacelle ring. The ring and headlight come off as one unit. I took 3M double face tape and stuck it at the bottom of the loop that holds the little plastic screw in the housing.

I also put double faced tape around the chrome bezel and the housing.

I test rode it even in the rain tonight, the rattle is gone!!! WHOO HOOOOO. Now the bike is quiet is hell!!! VERY VERY NICE now!!!

Excellent. I think mine is finally starting to develop that same rattle. Will have to investigate. Thanks for the solution.

Thanks for the description. My 2004 Meanstreak has had such a rattle since new. I will try this immediately.

It feels GREAT to get rid of them pesky rattles...

Been there done that. I hate them.
