Question Phatt Ii Risers/mustang Seat( Vn900)

Has anyone on a vn900 installed both the mustang seat and phatt II risers?

I have the mustang seat on mine and love it, but am woundering if PhattII will make it even better ( comfort wise).

    Thanks inadvance!!

I think it depends on how tall you are. I put the Phatt II on my VN2000 Classic LT. I think they pull back a little too much for me. I am 6'1". I am getting a Corbin DualTour. This seat sets lower and farther back then the Mustang.
Sorry I can't answer abouot the 900. I think they use the same bars thou.

I thought I read where someone used both and they were a tad too cramped afterwards. But I believe you'd have to be 5'10" or taller. My wife at 5'4" could probably use both...

I love my Phat II's. I have the stock bars angled about as high as they will go and now It's like I am riding with ape hangers. =)

5.9" my arms extend just about strait forward when I am in my usual sloutched riding position. Here is a side view so you can see how tall the bars actually are.
It's a much more comfortable riding position than with just the stock bars. The only complaint I might have is that since your sitting more up right rather than leaning over the bars, more of your weight is transfered to your lower back/ hips and it sometimes feels a little fatigued after 3+ hours of riding or so. But it's not nearly as bad as how my shoulders and mid back felt in the stock position.

I have a mustang vintage touring seat and the Phat I's and I think it's perfect. I'm 5'8" and have a 32-33" reach. I think the reach would be more important than your height for obvious reasons.

Are more likely to know their height and thus have a better reference point.

I've got both on my 900 and I'm 5'8' 165lbs. Arms and inseam are 31" feels pretty good but it wouldn't bother me if the seat or bars were about 1" closer as sometimes I seam to slide up a little on longer trips.

I just installed both a couple of week ago on my 900LT. So far I like it. Really nice for the laid back highway cruising. The only <slight> issue for me is that during a real tight turn the bar seems a little close. I would rather have this very slight and not so often issue of being close than the previous issue I had of them being too short. I am still happy I bought them.

5'7 with the PhatII's and the mustang w/back rest.
on the stock seat the phatII's were perfect. the slouched position and forward slant of my upperbody put the bars right on at the price of a real sore butt. now the seat is fixed but the bars feel too short again. the stang seat although it sits a bit closer, lifts you up a little and forces a more natural posture - no slouch. I've raised the bars to the point where at full lock the grips are just less than parallel to the ground and I find I'm straight arming the grips - don't know what I'll do to fix it . . . phat 3's?
the mustang seat makes it a whole different bike. still looking for that perfect fit but it's closer with the phatII's most definitely.

I'd like to just thank everyone for their comments in Catfish's thread.

I have the Mustang Vintage Wide touring seat on order and appreaciate any insight you all have. I currently find the stock seat to handlebar distance just fine but have no idea what the new seat will do to my riding position.

    Thx,

    Tj

My thoughts on Phat III's are that you might as well just get a set of ape hangers anyway since your probably going to have to get at least a new clutch cable to get them to fit properly. Not to mention they look better and they have a more natural wrist angle as well for strait arming it. Another person on this from put mini apes on his phat II's and likes them alot as well.
