I recently put some strippers on my V2K and it said in the instructions to use NEW exhuast gaskets where the pipe meets the head...well my stock exhuast had none in there and they seems to be a "rubbery feeling part" that is stuck inside the exhuast port(where the pipe would meet up). Does this come out? It seemed pretty good in there like it wouldnt come out. I have te pipes on and no leaks(no popping) so i guess its good? In the micrfiche tho it shows some gaskets, like o-rings? Anyone else put NEW gaskets on with new pipes? Thanks

If it is working for you then I guess you are good to go. But I believe most will agree that installing new gaskets with the new pipes is recommended. No fun to have to do it twice. Use anti seize compound on the headbolts...torque to specs...check torque after 100 miles or so. Enjoy

If the old gasket is stuck in place then just take it out. Make sure the surface is clean and install the new and go have fun. I don't mean to try and over simplify it, but there is just not much to it. Having said that...some folks have had trouble with the cap nuts bottoming out with their new pipes. Some have solved this by using a flat washer to take up enough space to get the right torque spec. I am sure others have figured out different solutions. Also, (at least on my bike and similar) many of us have used the Harley gaskets as they are supposed to be better than the OEM ones (I think they are a bit thicker), but not sure if they would work on the V2K. Lots of others on here with way more experience than me, I am sure someone with more info will help you out with any other questions. Have fun.

My dealer where I bought my Bigshots threw in two new exhaust crush gaskets, which I used. The old ones can be kinda wedged into the port, so you might have just re-used your old ones. I'd be surprised if there weren't any...
