Guitar- have you thought about powdering your peg mounts? i bet you could paint the bracket a flat black to blend it more into the bike, since your ride has minimal chrome on it. or am I the first who has said anything about it?

i've been watching this thread cuz i'm getting the jardines on my '03 meanie, but i do have alot more shiny on mine than your SE has.

Would love to find some Jardine forward controls on ebay cheap. Don't look like it's gonna happen. Found some there for the M50 I had for $250.00. I can't/won't pay $500.00+ for any.

The controls are quality and well made but the company, unfortunately, is absolutely clueless. They dont even know what bikes their parts fit on .
Did you get the floor boards yet? I just put on the Jardines. They look and feel great.

I had an 07 meanie with the jardines and just bought an 08 SE and put the jardines on it as well. I am about 6 4 with a 36 inseam and they are excellent!! I wouldnt recommend any others. Yes they are pricy but worth every cent!! I cant ride a stock meanie anymore feels to small in the leg
area. Also witht the jardines you dont have to replace anything!!!! Good luck in your decision!!!

Yeah I finally did take receipt of them. I really like the way they fold up out of the way when you're just cruising around town but where they really shine is on long trips. They give you a lot of different configurations to put your feet which really helps make the ride more comfortable.

It isnt that I want the MS to be a knee dragger, I have a sport bike for that. I just seem to drag the pegs alot on my meanie. Besides Im sure that I would enjoy some more leg room @ 6'0".
I just drag the pegs, they seem made in preparation for it. There are drag blocks on the bottom that can be swapped out and the pegs are able to hinge up. With mine still mostly stock I tend to rely on my exhaust's heat shield scraping as an indicator of reaching the lean limit than I do the pegs.

Do the forward controls for the 1600 classic fit the mean streak?

I've scraped the the stock pegs a few times but the Jardines are set a few inches higher. I just put them on a week a go and the weather has been terrible so I haven't been riding much. But I don't think they will scrape like the stock pegs.

Mine haven't scraped yet, even with the VTX shocks installed. I'm being REALLY watchfull of my mini boards tho. I fold them up if I'm going out to the curves...

Im looking for a set of mini floor boards for my MS (for Jardine forward controls). Anyone have a set for sale or know where I can get them at a reasonable price and won't to wait for months?

Will the jardines work for me being 5 foot 10? I really like them but worry about being able to reach them.

I would recommend a minimum of 33" inseam. They are out 6"/up 3". I have 35/36" inseam and they stretched me a bit...

Maybe the mapams would be right up your alley - they dont move the pegs as much.
