Okay, so I have around 200-250 I can spend.
Here's what I'm thinking: Either replace my 13" apes (with stretched out cables that BARELY reach) with 16"ers and new cables (around 160 if I go with cheaper apes...which would be fine for now) or... Scootworks pulley. So far I've added windshield, backrest, saddlebags and cobra dragsters. I could, theoretically, go with thunder monster baffles for my pipes (I want a bit more rumble) and spend 120-170ish on something else. Oooo. I could do those and the scootworks pulley. Hmmm. But the handlebars will change the ride and the look more. Anyhow, other suggestions are welcome. Other stuff I'm thinking about: highway bars and pegs replacement seat (would think about the gel seat from Kawi but I'm pretty sure it's not in stock anywhere) new grips new leatherwear for me and the misses (vest, helmets, boots, etc.) chrome stuff Thanks all. |

The only pics of your scoot I could find were close-ups of the pipes.
But from what I read and see in the close ups, I would have to suggest saving a bit more for some forward controls, or like Steve said ^ , Highway bars/pegs. Comfort is king in my book, and I would rather ride a comfortable ugly bike than a shiny one that hurts . Wait, I do ride an ugly comfortable bike opinions are like butts, everyone has one, and they all stink!

Hmmm... you've already got 13" apes, do you need 16" for more comfort or just for the look?
If that were my black beauty, I would buy her some Kury ISO grips, a set of stylish mirrors, a chrome rear brake reservoir cover, and the Show Chrome lower right side cover. |

Thanks for the pic cdnielson.
I read a post after yours about forward controls, and it seems some feel that the boards are better than pegs, and it looks like you have nice boards. I change my opinion ( butt ) I would go with some chrome on the front fender of some sort, a tip or a rail etc.. And a fat Light Bar! with some big aux spots with visors. Then a visor on the main beam for a great look with the apes. so that .04 now. .02 + .02.

Grips are definately on the list. It's just hard to prioritize. Mirrors? Meh. Maybe someday. I want to get the Kury skull mirrors. Thanks. Last edited by cdnielson : 08-24-2007 at 09:58 AM. Reason: typos |

To me it looks like you are setup for some longhauls. I'd add the bars and highway pegs for the added comfort. It will increase you saddle time.
BTW, If you do this, go ahead and order the chrome horn cover because the bars require remounting then it stands out as black. You can get a cover for as little as $10. Tj |

Well, if I really want to go for the comfort/long haul thing, I think the first replacement would have to be the seat. And the second would be the pulley. As much as I really want highway pegs, a replacement seat would make the most difference in comfort.
I ride around 30 min x2 on the freeway every day. That's about the end of my endurance with the stock seat. I can't imagine going several hours on that thing. Of course, the pulley would lower the freeway buzz a bit and help out too. Thanks. |

3 best mods I made for my comfort were the grips - went to ISO's w/ the trottle boss and stiletto ends, the engine gaurd bar and the highway pegs.

On a side note... when I went to Phat I risers, I found my cables a bit snug and just put in an order for Magnum Sterling Chromite II in +4" length. Gonna cost me $200 but I oughtta be able to recoup some of that by selling the stock length Chromite II's that I have now. There is no comparison when it comes to braided lines, the Chromite II's are gorgeous.
