I did a quick search, and didn't see anyone else who has posted a pic.
Note that this tach is not the same as the Classic/LT, because the handlebars are different. You can see the Classic/LT tach here: http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...an-w-pics.html BTW, the install for this is quite easy. Tach works great, although compared to a car tach, the action of the needle is definitely dampened (it doesn't react as quickly to changes in engine speed). |

that is sharp! is the delay like annoyingly slow or just a tad? also what all is involved with install?

The lag isn't annoying. Just noticeable when you move the throttle. When you're actually riding, you don't notice (I just use it to check the current RPM - If I watch it while riding, I'm sure I'll significantly shorten my life expectancy).
As for install, directions were excellent, took me about 15-20 minutes: - Tach clamps to the bars with a couple bolts. - It has 3 wires, correct length, with quick disconnects already attached. - 2 wires thread into the back of the headlight assembly through the existing opening. You have to tap the power wires in the headlight - remove 2 screws, one on each side of light, pull out headlight, strip the indicated wires, snap on the supplied wire taps, and connect the connector. - Last wire needs to be threaded down through the body to the left side where the ignition coils are. Remove the "chrome" cover - one screw - between the cylinders, tap the indicated wire - same procedure as headlights - plug in connector. - Zip tie (supplied) everything to make it neat. Done. BTW, the light in the tach is blue, so it doesn't match the speedo, for those of you who worry about such things... |

Looks fantastic, Yes me too, I'd love to see a camara phone snapshot of the speedo and the tach, high focus, exactly centered at 75 MPH and 100 MPH, At night on a curvy road.

Seriously, it would be great if you could post what your RPMs are at various speeds. Say 5 MPH intervals from 60 to 80 (give or take). I am asking because I am still thinking the 900 revs pretty high at those speeds - particularly at 70 to 75+. Just want to get a feel for what the actual RPMs are. Thanks.

The Cobra part # for the custom is 01-1968. I believe the classic/lt part # is 01-1963, if anyone cares.
You can get all the custom's cobra part #s from this page: CobraUSA - CruiserProducts - Vulcan 900 Custom (07-0 There definitely are cheaper places to get the parts than direct from Cobra, though. |

It finally got warm enough here in NE to ride again, so I've collected up some speeds vs. RPM. This is on a stock drivetrain 900C. Unfortunately, I don't have a GPS, so I can't verify actual speed. I'd assume the usual 8-10% error.
