Hello there~
I hope that you are all doing well during this winter. Before the winter passes, I am considering putting on Cobra pipes on my 07 Nomad. Here are the questions. I see that spherical thing underneath the body of my Nomad. What does this do? I assume this thing mixes exhaust gas from two cylinder, equally passes to both stock exhaust? I saw the pictures of Cobra pipes added to Nomad and I don't think I ever saw one of that sphere or mixing chamber. So is it going to be ok without it? Personally, I'd like to see it down there, looks good, again, personally, but how does Cobra pipes work without it? Or, am I not assuming things right? One more. I hear that some say to get FI2000(r or no r) when I change to Cobra or not, which is correct? If I add FI2000(r), do I have to adjust the setting, or is it ok to leave it to its default setting if I want what it was like with stock pipes? Thanks Jake |

That thing your talking about is the goat bladder, AKA Cat Converter on the bike. You will eliminate that when you add the pipes to your bike. You do not have to add a fuel map with just the addition of pipes. You may want to block the reed valves or you could get some popping on decel.
If you want I bought some coasters to take the reed valves off on my last Nomad and never got around to doing it. I will sell them to you for $25.00 bucks. I think they were around 30-35 when I got them. If your interested I have a set that I no longer need. Hope this helps

Hey Vadar1, I put some Cobras on my '03 Nomad about a month ago and absolutely love them. You won't miss that goat bladder thing at all, and you'll be a few pounds lighter. As for adding a fuel mapper, you won't need to. I plan at some point to work on the intake, and then I'll need the fuel mapper.

yep, you don't need it. Mines been gone for over 6 years now. do the reed valve block though to eliminate popping.
As for the picture, you have to make it your avitar to show up on your posts. otherwise, we can see the picture if we look at your profile.
