Default Final Chapter ~ Gas Tank Is Home !

Okay, I decided I didn't want to leave any of my kind caring friends here left in the dark in the final chapter on my gas tank. Yes, FINAL CHAPTER because it came home last night!!!!

Last Friday Chaz went to the shop to cut our losses and get the tank back. Well, when he got there, he discovered my tank was no longer at this shop!!!! The guy said he got frustrated and didn't want to spend another $150 on a can of paint, so he sent my tank out to ANOTHER painter he knows!!!! Boy, we got REAL nervous!!! I could just see the price souring through the sky for one little area that went in to be repaired

The second painter knew what he was doing, thank goodness!! He had it ready in less than a week, and we got the call yesterday afternoon to come get it. So, we picked it up on the way home from work. I am THRILLED to report that the guy DID keep his word on the price!!!! He only charged us the $300 he quoted the first day. Now, according to him, this painter was able to match the paint without using Color Rite, which was how he able to keep our cost the same.

The tank looks GORGEOUS!!!!! He did a super job!!! I honestly can't see any color differences in the "regular" house light. We haven't had it outside in the sun yet, except briefly when we picked it up from the shop. The area that was smudged from the seat is even clean and shiny! Chaz thinks the guy sprayed the clear coat over the whole tank. It shines like a showroom tank again!!!!

I have pictures, but they were taken inside. The lighting is not the greatest to try and capture red, but here's my best shot!!!

Well after FIVE WEEKS of waiting anixously for this tank. I think the guy who he had paint it, did an outstanding job. As you can see by looking at the second and third pictures, you really can't see any difference. I can't wait to get it in the sun light and really see it. Flipping it back and forth from one side to the other, I am telling you it really looks like factory paint.

All right!!!
Has Chaz got it installed yet. Saturday might be a bit cool for a ride, but Sunday looks promising -- 47 degrees, 10% chance of precip.
