Default Highway bars and pegs technical question?

Man I'm getting tired of being the dumba** on this forum, but I can't seem to help it. My questions starts with this, I have got to get some highway pegs to stretch out. After about an hour in the same position on the floor boards of my 06 1500 classic, I have to get off to stretch my legs. I want to be able to do this while I'm cruising. Also, I will be putting the Lindby bars on at some point. Just my opinion, but it is either Lindby or none cuz I can't stand the look of MC's or Cobras.

I have found these highway hawk bars at Phatperformance for $140 Phat Performance Parts - Great Parts, Great Prices, Great Service, Great Website

The picture of them is nice, however, I can't tell where exactly they would be mounted. I am pretty sure they are mounted to the downtubes, but the mounting brackets don't look adjustable. Thus, where on the downtubes?

My second question is this, I could get a set of offset Kurys which I can mount to my downtubes wherever I want to (i.e. just above shifter lever and brake pedal). However, will they protrude far enough from the frame to be comfortable using. If I go this route, I could mount them to the frame, then when I get the Lindbys, I could mount them to the Lindbys and stretch out even further.

The bottom line is this, I am afraid the Highway Hawk bars would be mounted in a position such that when I add the Lindbys, they will become unusable. Whereas, if I were to put on the Kurys, I could move them to the Lindbys. So I guess what this all boils down to is will the Kurys be comfy mounted on the downtubes for awhile, or should I just wait and buy the Lindbys when I can?

Sorry for the long post, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Let me see.........TomE where are, I know snoopy is on the dog house somewhere, sorry private joke between him and I.

To begin with the Lindy bars have an area where you can put the feet up for a stretch. you can also put kurys on them to get another position to extend your feet. It would appear that the Highway hawk bars would interfer with the lindy bars and that is where TomE (engineer at large) will step in give further advise.

The Kurys have a very versital clamp system. The down tubes may be a different diameter than the lindy bars. but when you do get to the lindy bar buying time you can get new clamps for them and have the best of both worlds

I'm really enjoying my 06 1500 and already have the 1.25 cobra crash guards on looking for the off set Kury dullys

To me, the foot position on the Lindby Bar looks pretty high and uncomfortable. I prefer to have my highway pegs mounted down low so I can rest my toes on them, and keep my heels on my floorboards.

I don't know if you can add the Kury hughway pegs to the Lindby bar, though I believe Lindby makes their own highway pegs.

I agree, trike, I think the Lindbys by themselves would offer little additional comfort. My ultimate goal is to put on the Lindbys and then move the Kurys from the frame to the portion of the Lindbys that is perpendicular to the ground when going down the road. I must admit I did not take into account the possible difference between the down tube diameter and the Lindby diameter. I am assuming, without researching that the Lindby diameter is 1.25". I'll have to check that out and check out my downtubes.

Thanks for the input, and I would greatly appreciate any additional input.

I just checked their website, all the Lindbar products are 1 1/4" o.d. So there is no reason you can't buy the same diameter Kury clamp and be off to the races.

I think my downtubes are 1.35" and the Lindbys are 1.25". Thus, if I mount them now, I will need different clamps when the Lindbys are added. Anyone know if just the clamps can be changed on the offsets?
