250 rebel oil type?

Quick questions. A kid in my neighborhood ask me to help him change the oil in his rebel 250 this weekend. I figured it would be easy enough and told him I would.
After doing just a little research online I found out that there isn't any sort of filter.

Kinda odd.

If there is anyone on the forum that has had one of these small bikes would you chime in a little and let me know if there is there anything else I should be aware of?

10w/40 just like the vulcan 900. just remember there is no oil filter on the rebel. Think it holds 1.6 qts

A lot of smaller bikes have a screen and MAYBE centrifugal oil cleaner.
The centrifugal cleaner is basically a small flywheel that spins very fast. Oil is pumped out the center and is literally spun into a trap. Dirt "sticks" to the trap and the oil returns to the sump.
