Default saw a guy pour beer in his gas tank on Mean streak!

last night at Iron thunder I saw a guy pour beer (1/2 can) in the gas tank of his kawasaki mean streak! I asked him what the hell he was doing, and all he said is "trust me." I really didn't care, it was his bike...WTF was the reason for it? he was not drunk, and seemed to be OK otherwise.

Just an idiot. no value in doing that. he's just making his bike run worse. Just thinks he's being a bad-azz. I'd put him in the category of poser....in a negative way.

i mean there is alcohol and some great flavor (depending on the choice of brew) but isn't beer mostly water?

i actually laugh my *** off, but he was dead serious. He was with a large group and they all seemed like this was normal. When he left, he smoked the tire all from one end of pat rogers Harley Davidson to the other, so it must not hurt it to much! All the HD employees were just shaking their heads at him. I was kind of impressed in a weird sort of way.

Any possibility it was gas in the beer can?

Love the "trust me" line.

....but I thought Mean Streak's were whiskey drinkers?

no he was drinking it just prior to pouring it. I loved the trust me line also! I dont think it was enough to really hurt it, but i cant see it helping at all. I have heard of people using a spry bottle to spray a mist of water in a running engine to clean up the pistons, could this be the same? Also is the water clean up true, or just a myth?

True to an extent, some use a mister to keep cylinder temps down also. For cleaning, it's a once in awhile deal. As far as beer in the tank, I would think it has to be harder alcohol or there would be problems.

Default Octane Booster

I'm betting the guy is a chemistry wizard. Beer actually serves as an octane booster and I've heard that it gives the exhaust a sweet smell.

Ride safe and often.
