This is my first bike, so I am not really sure what to get. I'm looking at Kuryakyn products on ebay and other 1 1/4 sets of pegs. Now to my question. What does "OFFSET" mean/do for you when it comes to the pegs? I mean I can tell they appear to be down a little lower than "normal" pegs, but do they give you more freedom to position them?
My thought is, if you get pegs that are strait and not offset, can't you just put them on the bar at the height you want? Why would you want them offset? I know this sounds silly, but the prices are different and I'm just trying to figure out what makes these offset pegs more special. If they are easier to adjust or allow you to adjust on the fly that would be cool. I'm just not finding anything in the description for these products that explains this. So what do you guys have or what direction would be looking? Strait pegs or these offset pegs? Fitz |

Offset may help a rider with a shorter inseam or as you guessed more possibilities for positioning!!

Offset just means the highway peg comes with a dog-legged bracket (or kindof L-shaped) to enable you to have more positioning than just 90' from the crash bar. If you are extremely tall (or short) you can rotate the offset bracket to get the highway peg further (or closer) to you than you would with the standard peg.

If you can see in the attached picture you can see how the offset works. Mine are the 4" Kurykan offsets and I have mine set down so I have enough leg room. They can swivel 360 degrees to help in placement.

I just went through the same series of questions that you are going through right now. I am going with the off set longhorn dually. I think it's P/N 4575 for the 1 1/4" mount but I'd verify that. I know I will. Sunnydude nailed it about having the most adjustment options. I had a bit of concern about how far they would stick out, but once I looked at the OEM bar position and angle, I made my decision.
Good luck

Mine aren't offset (they were on the bike when I bought it used) and I had to stretch and point my toes to touch them. I lowered them and rotated them inside the crash bar so that I can put my heel on the regular peg and have the highway peg under the ball of my foot. I didn't know they had offsets. I want floorboards before I get usable highway pegs.

Go with the dually pegs. Get the offsets. I have mine set where I can keep my heel on the floorboards and rest my toes on the dually's. Very comfy.

Being "Vertically Challenged" (short) I needed the off sets to be able to reach the pegs altogether. They can be positioned anyway you want them.
