Default What a feeling!

hey guys, as some of you may know I just purchased my first street bike, a Vulcan 900 Custom Black. I had always ridden dirt bikes my whole life, so I was a bit nervous about going over 30 mph. But i gotta say, I was up to 70 in no time and didnt feel like I was going that fast at all! I had a hell of an adrenaline rush, I loved every minute of it. Dumb move on my part was I didnt think wed be there so late, so by the time we left it was about 60 or under, and I had worn ventilated shoes and no gloves, so by the time i got home my hands were numb lol. But damn I feel like im 16 again with my first car, i cant quit going out to clean it, sit on it, look at it, find any excuse i can to ride it! Soon as the weather quits being ****ty here I will get some pics up! Now I just gotta pick out some saddlebags and decide if i want to upgrade the exhaust or not!

AWESOME! Told you that you would be fine. I was in your ventilated shoes 3 weeks ago. Definitely get exhaust!!! I got the cobra speedster slashdowns and they sound sweet on my '08 black 900 custom. I know they are the most expensive but they are awesome looking and are perfect. I've pulled up to harleys at intersections and my bike is just as loud and sometimes louder. I still have the baffles in too so it can only get louder. Enjoy the Ride!

Good to hear your first ride went well. That temptation to go out and clean and ride the bike... Yea that will never go away.... Nor will that big azz smile on your face when you fire her up and hit the road *grins*

Know what you mean! I have hard time staying away from the bike! Had mine up to 100 mph on the speedo (90 on the gps) testing out my mod to my chrome lowers which were buzzing before and now after a little weatherstripping don't make any noise. Never had the bike that fast before and it was a rush! Don't plan on making that a regular occurance though as I was a human bobble head at that speed with the helmet buffeting!

Welcome to the forum and have fun on that new bike!

Congrats on the 900 custom. It is always a great feeling to have a new toy. As mentioned before, if you have not taken the MSF...plan to take the course in the near future. Respect the abilities of your new machine. Ride safe.

Congrats. Now you understand why there are so many bikes on the road. It's quite a free feeling that nothing else on the road (legally) can match.

Thats awesome! Aftermarket pipes are a must... I have the Slashdowns too and they are awesome. I have the same effect... I'll be at a light with harleys and mine will be as loud if not louder especially when I take off! I hope you enjoy the bike!

Welcome, welcome! Yeah...there's nothing else like it. You'll find it's kinda like sex, ride at different times of the day, different roads and different speeds for a different rush. LOL!

I love riding right at sunset traveling N to S with the sun beside me. It's like being on a horse in the old west. At least that's my fantasy.

Lotsa fun when you start! I get the same giddy feeling when entering my garage too! It almost feels like you are cheating (riding ON the road) after years of dirt riding only. Lots of polishing still going on . . . Enjoy!

congrats on a great choice in bike.

you'll love it.

ride safe and get some of those pics up!!

Buy some aftermarket pipes, but be warned... once you buy one aftermarket item, you find a whole catalogue full of other stuff to buy!!!!
