Hey All,
Heard from my supe last night at work about my request for "an occasional Saturday off so I could spend time with my family". She said that she could do something about that in the next schedule, which affects the week of 5/26 thru 6/1. So, I'm "thinking" I have Saturday, 5/31 off. Anyone still interested in doing a SoCal meet/ride??? Finally! Daryl

Great, guys! That's two... I'm sure there'll be more.
No route as of yet, but we have been toying with Neptune's Net in Malibu as an end location to feed & water ourselves. Nothing set in stone yet though, so open to suggestions. No problem doing something 'tweeners: VenCo to The OC, but you guys would have to come up with a place since it's been a while since I've been on that side of the hill. We'll keep our options open... and come up with a plan for the masses! Also posted same ride request on LAVROC, Stinky Finger and KawaNOW. Best, Daryl

I will find out tomorrow or Weds if I have that Saturday off. So, when I find out, I'll let everyone know so we can schedule something!

Yup, I have that Saturday off. So far we have 4 total from the BTK forum: 1 from Saugus, 1 from Huntington Beach, 1 from Hesperia, and me from Camarillo.
Any ideas on where to meet/ride? Daryl

I was going to suggest Pine Mt, but who knows whats up with the weather...
I may be out anyway unless I can get some parts today. I've got the handlebars off (long story here, but it involves removing my corbin fairing to replace with stock) and the threads are stripped on the clamp. I've re-threaded it, but I need some longer socket bolts to catch the bottom threads. Went to home depot when they opened this am, no luck. Will try the local ace hardware (and kaw dealership) when they open.

California Motorcycle Roads & Tours - 400 Best Rides & Maps, 3000+ Pics Bill, I have the stock handlebar bolts and nuts from my '06 Nomad 1600. If they'll work for you PM me your address and I'll shoot 'em to you pronto. Daryl

Little Tujunga sounds good; Angeles Crest would be cool; but I'm up for heading south and/or east to see what The OC and/or The Inland Empire has as far as motorcycle hotspots and hangouts!

wmlkaw & rfb,
Wmlkaw is down in Huntington Beach. So, rfb, what range is "do-able" for you to meet up with everyone? Same question in reverse to wmlkaw. Plasma and I are fairly closest to one another, so you two let us know what you're up for and we'll "git er dun"... Best, Daryl

BJ (my wife) and I typically plan on min 300 miles at least once on the weekend, so we are pretty open to where we m&g. Its all a function of time (yes, I'm kind of lazy and dont want to get up at the crack of dawn to meet at neptunes at 0800)....I am open to suggestions, and BJ will kick my a%s if I get too sloth-like.

Here's a mapquest map that shows Hesperia, HB, 1000 Oaks (nearest major city to me you'd know) and Simi Valley (Plasma/Saugus). Just click one more down (-) the scale and it'll display all our cities.Map of Hesperia, CA by MapQuest
Bill, Do you and the wife ride 2-up or do you each have your own scoot? I'm open to anything from Big Bear to the north to The OC in the south to Palm Springs in the east to The Coast on the west. What does everyone else think?? (trying to be diplomatic here; work with me people!!!). Personally, I've never been to Cook's Corner, never rode the Hwy 74 dragon; have yet to do Angeles Crest Hwy; love the fish taco's at Wahoo's in Costa Mesa (it's been over 10 years!); haven't done the 166 to San Luis Obispo on 2 wheels; and have family in Palm Springs. So...... I'm game for pretty much anything! Cheers, Daryl

I am pretty open. I would prefer a starting point somewhere within an hour of me, but then, if your route comes close, I can join up. Let me know what you have in the works and I will see if it is doable for me. I have the day free, so the determining factor is the route. I will more than likely be in San Dimas Saturday morning, so figure that in the works. Starting somewhere in OC or SGV would work for me.

What about a cruise down to the beaches and coast of The OC, do a lunch somewheres, then head over and check out Phat Performance (Laguna Hills) and Metric Thunder (City of Orange)??? Not sure if Phat has a showroom or even Saturday hours, but I checked and MT is open Sat's 10a-4p.
Just a thought; still open to ideas/suggestions... Daryl

last time we staged in Anaheim and took PCH toward the 5s to Oceanside, hitting SD for lunch. But I am sure we can stage anywhere with an empty lot and plan our route here locally.

I haven't been to the new MT shop, but the old shop wasn't big enough to accommodate 15 guys... it would have been crowded with 5 guys. Not much for sale on the racks... some basic Kury and Cobra parts, goggles, and some helmets, though Bob would be happy to allow you to pick something up from the warehouse if you called and they had it in stock.
Same for Phat. The showroom is big enough for a fair number of guys, but other than the displays (including a Big Bear Custom and a sweet custom Roadstar), the entire showroom inventory could be paid for with the paycheck of a McDonalds employee ![]() Both places are primarily e-businesses and are more warehouse than walk-in-and-buy-stuff shops... and they aren't going to let you into the warehouse.
