Default Signed up for the MSF course

I opted to go for the advanced course which is for riders with at least 3 months experience. About 3 hours in a class, and about 4 in the lot. Looking forward to it very much. Has anyone taken that course here??? Just curious how they liked it..........

thanks

The brc is important to have first

I have done the ERC, it was great and well worth it. It knocked off some points off my license too!

They asked what everybody wanted to do better, I said I have no trouble scraping the left floor board but i want to scrape the right one (take right turns better)

they said, even though we do not suggest scraping off pieces of your motorcycle, just look through the turn and push with the inside hand and you will scrape, well, I did and I was very happy

The ERC is great, now i am looking at maybe next year taking the course between erc and race track

I took the Basic two years ago and got a 100%. Strangely, I was the only one out of 18 to get a 100%....

I watched our instructor do the "eight" with his Ultra. Pretty cool.

How do you scrape for the first time with out freakin out?
I haven't scraped yet but Im worried that when I do its going to cause me to jerk up and possibly cause an issue. I want to do it on purpose so I know what to expect but I dont... LOL

S.D. Willie

I took it about two years ago thru Trauma, over at the Nassau Coliseum.
I enjoyed it and learned. Also, even though they said 3 class hours we did it all right there outside, we would go over some text under a tree then go apply it on the road.

I freaked out a little, but after the BRC they sortof teach you to relax if you scrape.

As long as your floor boards / pegs can fold up, then no sweat.... DO worry if you are scraping hardpoints, chassis etc...

its fun to scrape, when you do it you will like to do it

my father never took the BRC and he has been riding for 40 years

I can tell he never took the BRC when i am behind him cause he does not do what we learned.

I know I am better then him now in the twisties, even though he has a bigger set of (eyeballs) then me (get the point?)

i took the BRC after having some significant time under my belt....

to be honest i didnt really learn anything, but I'm glad that i took it b/c being on the bike for 2 days straight and having to play by their rules helped me to break some habits that i formed myself and to pick up their habits rather naturally.

I think that's really key. Like Jerry Paladino says, he'd been riding for 20 years, but he'd been practicing the same bad habits all those years. It's never too late for training!

I took the BRC four years ago. I'm teaching it now, and I'm amazed at how constantly reinforcing that stuff is making me a better rider. I realized that I'd gotten sloppy about some things, but now, since I'm teaching students the basics, my own habits are improving. I'm much more aware of what I'm doing than I was before I became an instructor. It's pretty cool.
