Thumbs up

I just bought my third Vulcan, an '07 900LT. I bought a '99 Drifter new in '99, then a 1600 Classic in '03, and now the 900. Vulcans are not perfect but I don't see them as being anymore problem prone than any other bike. If you read the forums for specific BMW, Yamaha, Honda, or Suzuki models and you'll find your share of horror stories and technical shortcomings for each brand.

Y'know I sat on a 2007 exactly like that today. I just can't get over how light they feel, and the perfect, comfortable handlebar reach - not to wide, not too narrow. The fit is just so nice, it is amazing to me how hard it is for others to get that.

In that sense, my 900 and the Vegas have alot in common!

Absolutely. The Reno Kawa dealer is terrible (seems to be the national norm) and that poses a big obstacle for me. Thank goodness the Kawas require little dealer attention. I am 6'5" and need the extra wheelbase 2-3 inches the Kawasa offer versus the Harleys. I am on my second....and will buy a third when this one begins to have issues. I must say, however, that my 2006 Nomad is absolutely the best motorcycle I have ever owned. Love it bigtime !

I'd be looking at the Raider, Vegas, Softail Custom and Dyna Wide Glide.
I love the new wide glide.....

Nope,, not even close! The new V-Max is close but weighs too much, the b-king is close as well if you can get over the looks and sportbike comfort.

I have a '06 900 and think it is a great bike, however I was looking at little more for the long trips. after reading about the change in the front pully I gave it a try. now at 70 it does not have the sound to change gears or the vib. For the money it was the best thing have done. 50+ mpg, two up and rides like a dream.

We have owned 3: 800, 900, 1600. They are nice cruisers, only average maintenance and reliability, fairly comfortable, big tanks = long range, good looks, lowest resale value of the metrics, < average power. We have left the cruiser world behind. We enjoyed our Kawis. The 900 leads the middle size market and is the best in class IMHO. The big bore bikes are lacking in many areas. I liked my 1600 but I do not miss it. We have ridden virtually every cruiser on the market so we have a good standard of comparison. If we were going small the 900 is the hands down winner. If we were to go large, Kawi would not be in the running.

They would have to come out with something I'd want, which they haven't so far. I like my V2K but it's too heavy for a bike without hard luggage. The Nomad isn't any thing special to me.
I want a light weight, modern high performance V-4 cruiser with unique styling. It isn't going to happen.

If they did like a 1700 Custom, give it some rake, like a Star Raider or Rocker C, It'd be at the top of my shopping list.

No, I wont buy another Kawasaki. There is nothing that they are selling new that appeals to me plus of all the manufacturers/ Dealers they are the hardest to get parts from and service the worst. I own 1 suzuki, 2 hondas, 1 KTM, 2 Yamahas 1 Kawasaki and a HD. Honda shops are very good and the best bikes
HD the best service,
Yamaha and Kawi dealers suck.
