Your right the V2k has Great power but the 96 with a breather kit, pipes (any bike I buy) and a remap would be enough power for a Cruiser. My 1500 with hop ups and My RK with a 95 kit have enough power I don't need more (more would be ok but with a cruiser its enough) A friend has a new 09 ultra and I had a chance to ride it and it handles really nice and you can lean it the turns a lot more in the turns and it tracts really nice (for a cruiser) I like the look of the v2k but have not had a chance to ride one. I would also have to check out what after market stuff you can get for it. I would have to do some things to any bike to make it mine and not look stock maybe another $1000.00 worth of goodies.

I've owned New kawasaki's in GPZ550, GPZ750, 1000 Ninja, 1500 Classic FI, ZRX1200 and 1600 Mean streak. I just bought a new H-D EG Standard. I briefly thought about a 1700 Voyager but bit the bullet on the Harley. Super smooth and a unique feel all its own....

Yes!! I currently have 2 of them The VN750 and the VN1500 Classic. Well the VN750 is my son's, waiting for him when he get out of the Army next December. I would really like to sell the 750, and buy a used a 900 Classic or Custom for him?? Not sure which one. I keep looking at used 900's on Ebay.
I'd like a 1600 Nomad, and somtimes think of the V2K, but doubt I'll move up from the 1500 til its used up. And at 12.7K miles I got a long way to go. It's a great ride, and I just can't justify trading right now..

I hope to keep this one for a long time. I have most everything on the bike that I wanted, and when Barnett gets my SS cables here, I will have my 18" Burly Gorilla bars on \ installed, and will pretty much have the bike where I want it, except for maybe some ww tires, and a chrome DS cover, and chrome side covers. I'm hoping to take early retirement / semi retirement in a few more years when I turn 62.
Yes, absolutely I would buy a Kawi again, I hope this one with proper maint. will last me. I really do love my 1500.

After many years of riding and many different bikes passing through my garage I finally found the two that found a permenent home. My KLR will have free room and board forever, it has truely earned it's keep. The VN-2000LT is a love affair that just won't quit, it will also have free room and board forever. There may be other bikes that come to visit for awhile then go on to another place but the two I have now will be mine for all time.

I love the Meanstreak...wondering if it would always be too much bike for me. I would definately stay with Kawi!!!! as many others have stated, who needs the price of an H-D when everyone assumes that's what I am on anyways!!!

I would buy another Kaw but, if the money was there I would look at other bikes, I really like the new Victory's this year, kinda turned off on the 2010 H/D cruisers with that big faring on them. I think for bang for your buck the Kawasaki line is a great buy!

Let's say someone dropped a load of cash into my hands........I'd go but another V2K in a heartbeat. After riding one for a few years, I'm just not sure I could live with any other cruiser.
If I couldn't have another V2K, I'd likely but a Victory. However, after riding the ZX14 for a few months now. I'm not sure I would buy another cruiser again anyways. Who knows though..............

I would not hesitate to buy another Vulcan cruiser. My perfect garage would contain :
900 Classic LT GX6R, to re-visit some of the roads that I have found on my 900. Vulcan Voyager, for those longer, freeway trips. 1971 Mach I Mustang, jade green, 428 with shaker hood. |
