Well, my wife came to me a week ago and said "I know how you love your bikes, why don't you go get one for father's day?" And I said "Hey, who are you and what did you do with my wife?!?!"
Anyway, she did say that and I wasn't going to pass up the offer. So, I started to shop around. My last bike was a '82 Honda Magna v45 750cc that I got off my father-in-law for free. It wasn't running at the time, but got it running within a couple of days and basically did a full restore on it. About 2 years ago, I ended up selling it for $1800 only because the wife and I decided to become foster parents. So, fast forward to present. Now, I found a very sharp '96 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 that caught my eye. I decided to purchase it prior to finding this site and after reading some of the posts, it wasn't entirely a bad decision. I have a few things to look for, but hell, so did my Magna. I pick up my new ride this Friday, trailering it home from Illinois back to Indianapolis. I should have it home in time to ride in the Miracle Ride this weekend. Anyway, here is a picture of the bike. |

Good job, pics with your 1st post! Nice looking bike, already got some bling too. You won't be disappointed with your choice.

Yeah, I like the color a lot. It is actually a burgandy with ghost flames. You can't actually see them very well in the pictures. I will get some better pictures once I have the bike in my possession. I am definitely excited to get it home. Kind of feel like a kid on Christmas morning!!!
Take care, Kevin (KNKT) |

OK - quick question for all of you experts - in reference to the pipes on my bike, is the orientation of my pipes the factory orientation? The one is running under the bike where it looks like there used to be the center stand. The center stand is no longer there, but the mounting brackets are. So, is this the standard orientation or is this "aftermarket" ? Most pictures I run across have the second pipe running between the engine and the battery compartment...
Thank you for your responses, Kevin Last edited by knkt : 06-03-2008 at 10:41 PM. |
