c law: Actually, I don't feel like it moved me forward at all. I'm 6'0" tall if that makes any difference.

artz: Yes, the paint job gets a LOT of attention at street lights. Since it is debadged, peope always want to know what kind of a bike it is and most are pretty surprised when you tell them it's a Kawasaki!

I have read here the oposite. Some reviews said they took off the mustang, corbin and other for a kawa gel and they explain why with details. I have the stocker so I have no eperience on any.

vulcanman900,

I'm glad you're enjoying your new mustang seat. Sorry the Kawi gel didn't work out for you. To me, it's a VAST improvement over stock AND I got my dealer here to match the best price that I could find online: $211 + tax...

That was also a deciding factor me since I'm cheap!

I've put over 150 miles on the bike in the past two days just putting around so I must REALLY like the seat!

The custom seat is built differently than the classic. Figured they'd be the same. Little different shape in the seat and the pillion's not as thick.

That seat dosen't look like the gel seat on my 900 classic. Looks good but different. If it's anything like mine, it'll take about 500 miles to break in. I can now go fill-up to fill-up without any discomfort.

I found out that if you park that Gel Seat in the hot sun for a while it will absorb the heat and then retain if for a really long time. I put a towel on mine but finally bought a small cover. The comfort is good to me and the wife likes it too!!

Guys, has anyone tried seats from "Day-Long"? Custom Motorcycle Seats and Touring Saddles - "Day-Long" Touring Saddles and Motorcycle Seats by Russell Cycle Products
I installed new Mustang seat but not very happy with it. It's too low for me.
I wish they were 2" higher.

I put the Mustang seat on my custom. Better than the stock but I still have tailbone pain on long rides. Is the gel better than the Mustang?

In my opinion it is. The one I bought has split gel pads in the main seat with a narrow gap in the center. Therefore your tail bone doesn't have much pressure on it. I have a bad back and on the longer hauls you can definately appreciate this seat. Mine looks more like the one pictured about 3 posts up except studded and on a nomad.

Im looking to buy a gel for my nomad but was wondering what you do in the winter when bike is idle for a few months, does the gel freeze and maybe cause harm or do you take it in the house, my garage stays in the 50s - 60s when freezing so no problem here unless the wife leaves the door open.

It doesn't freeze when it dips in the low 30's here.
